new to MFP not new to dieting

Hey there,

Finally decided to give the my fitness pal app a shot and for the past couple days that I've used it I've really liked it! I was a member of the livestrong community before but my app stopped working and I wasn't able to interact with the community let alone log my daily meals! So here I am, continuing my change for a better and healthier lifestyle!

Let me catch you guys up with what's been going on in my life...

Been exercising pretty consistently (few slack days) for a couple months now. Wasnt seeing the results I was hoping so I revamped my diet in leau of traditional dieting and decided to go vegetarian. A month in to it and going strong!! I've seen improvements and am excited to see where it takes me!

Since I've never used MFP any veterans have tips and tricks to the app that you could divulge in? And anyone that needs support in their journey please add me! I would love the support as well.

Welcome to My Fitness Pal, I sent you a request. I am 23 years old and a pescetarian, I could not do the only veggies thing so I am a veggie and seafood person and it works wonders.

If you cook a lot, I definitely recommend the recipe builder, and most people take a bit to notice it. Enter in meals you make regularly, and it will calculate out the total and portion amounts for you, and save it for the future.

The database is a great resource but because it's largely user entered, some of the entries have wrong information, so do a common sense check on things the first time you add them. Of check if other users have confirmed it as correct.

    Welcome, and good luck! :D

Welcome! I have been on this site since February 2010 and love it here! I have lost 50 lbs. I was not sure how it work with being a senior, but it works just fine. I am a total carnivore so you might not want to friend me.

You know now that I think about it I must be pescetarian too, I couldn't give up sushi so I opted to still eat fish! I had no idea there was a name for veggie fish eaters. :) Congrats Nanadena on reaching your goal, I welcome the support! I'm a Nebraska girl so beef and bacon and the like hold a special place in my heart.

fellow pescetarian here! was vegan at one point but slowly added more protein as I realized I was no where near getting enough! first dairy and eggs then later fish... love fish but if I had to catch it and clean it myself I would go back to veganism lol. I am still looking for support here myself. sending request
  • welcome to mfp! I'm not a pescatarian, but i do respect all diet types from vegetarian, vegan, raw foodists, paleo followers, etc. It's all good! Feel free to add me if you like! And that goes for anyone who sees this!
