What are you feelings on limiting grains or carbs? My friend who is also doing a diet ( she isn't on here) says you should limit grains/carbs to only one meal a day. I like grains...they help me feel full and I eat less. What are your feelings on this?

My feelings are that there's no need to go out of your way to avoid them.
I do try to avoid refined carbs - e.g. I would always choose brown rice instead of white, eat rye bread with minimal additives rather than white bread etc. Some grain based foods like pasta are also fairly high in calories so that's one reason to limit them.
But as you say, eating grains works for you so keep doing it!0 -
My own little personal rule is just to get whole grain when it's available and limit the white and overly processes stuff. I still eat it, but not as much as I used to. Some people do better on lower to no carb/ grain diets, but I know from experience that I'm not one of those people. If eating grains helps you stay on track and stay healthy I say keep it up! :happy:0

I think that if you do not have any issues with grains then there is no need to eliminate them.
I think that if your grain consumption causes you to push out other nutrient dense foods then you may want to limit your grain consumption, but I would think this point to be somewhat intuitive. (EX: If you have 100g CHO to fill, and you fill all 100g of CHO with grains, you are probably missing some nutrients from fruits/vegetables so in this case I'd reduce your grain consumption to make room for other nutrient dense foods).
I think that in your specific case, grains are very beneficial to you for the bolded part. You enjoy eating them and they give you satiety and cause you to eat less. That's a very good reason to not change a thing.0 -
We got to stop objectifying grain and carbs . They are people, just like us, and they have feelings too.0

I dont eat anything with gluten in, which is most grains, but i still eat plenty of carbs in rice, potato, veggies and fruits.
i have just made chapatis with white gluten free flour and gram flour
Carbs are NOT just grains. I would recommend anyone go gluten free, i have done it and feel great, my husband is doing it right now and i think after his gluten come-down he will also feel great0
