I have been eating under my calories and working out 4 times a week and for what ever reason my body has hit a plateau. This is the second time this has happened while trying to loose weight, my weight always drops to a certain number and stops. In the past I would just give up, but I'm not going to give up this time I have got to beat this. So I'm looking for suggestions or things you did to beat the evil plateau.

How long has it been since you've lost weight?
Also, open your diary so people can give advice about your intake!
Thanks!0 -
I'm glad you're not giving up! If you give up, you have to start over again. Plateaus are a natural part of losing weight. Your body gets used to the routine, so you have to switch it up. It may be adding more time to your workouts (10 - 15 minutes), switching up your workouts, or even adding/taking away certain foods. Play with your routine for a week (one switch up at a time) and see what happens. You can do it, girl!!0

From your previous post, it sounds like you have only been logging for 2 weeks now. And you've lost 7 pounds in those 2 weeks. Considering those facts, you are not on a plateau. When you have a month or more of working your program with no loss, THAT's a plateau.
Just keep on the program, and you'll get there.0 -
Thanks everyone, I will add to my workout and see if that helps and also take those darn weight watchers cakes out of my diet and see if that helps. I have been on my weight loss journey for about 2 months and I would loose and then give up and gain only to start back on the track of loosing and get back down to the same number and my body would stop. I start tracking with MFP to see if it would help keep me on track and it has so we'll see!!
Oh also I don't know how to open my diary?0 -
Your body is probably in "starvation" mode. Have a big enjoyable meal (not too big but more than you usually do) and your body will then think it's not starving. Then get right back to your program. It works for us.
Try it and please let me know.

Your answer is in your first sentence! "I have been eating under my calories". Not eating enough can cause your metabolism to slow down to accommodate the short fall. This could be happening to you. If you open up your diary you will get more helpful feedback.0 -
To open your diary got yo My Home> Settings> Diary Settings> and select public if you want everyone to be able to see it (you can chancge it any time).
It's only been 2 weeks and you've lost 7 pounds so you're doing good. You probably lost taht darn water weight and now it's time to start on the dreaded fat. You can do it!
I would say yes getting rid of prepackaged foods will help. If you do stop losing ata certain weight that's when you want to change things up. try a new workout do some interval training maybe, change your macors and go high proteing for a while. But for now I say keep on going no need to fix what isn;t broke!0 -
This is easier said than done - but just keep living a healthy life and focus on your other goals of feeling good & being healthy. Take a breath, enjoy the fall - continue to do what you do. Sometimes our bodies know best - and it might need an extra day of rest, or it's fighting a bug. This is where the scale is not a part of the picture that people see of you everyday - but your smile & your eyes are. :happy:0
