I just wanted to pop in and say hi and tell a little about myself. I've been using MyFitnessPal for about 2 weeks in conjunction with Endomondo Pro for exercise. I've found it to be amazingly helpful to be able to track my meals - that's not to say that I always make the best choices (who knew Chinese food was so calorie-dense?!? Oh, everyone? I see....)
Anyway, I had spinal surgery on July 20th and am just getting into physical therapy. There are a lot of things I'm not able to do yet; the won't let me jog (it's never been a pastime of mine but I'm anxious to try C25K) but I do walk a couple of miles a day. Well, that's the plan anyway.
Truth is that I don't know anyone else that's trying to lose weight and it's hard to stay focused on my own. I'm certainly more active than I was before the surgery, but that's not really saying much.
Well, that's my story. I love the idea that there is an entire forum behind this app; I really had no idea. Looking forward to being a part of it!

Hello!! I just started using this, I've lost about 20 lbs without but stopped. I'm hoping making myself track what I eat and see what everything is will help! And having someone besides my husband(who is skinny no matter what he eats) to lean on.
I feel you on excercise although mine is because I have three young kids and work so finding the time is well hard. But hopefully this will motivate me to get up earlier and do it!!0 -
Welcome! What kind of back surgery did you have? I had surgey a little over four years ago to remove a disk tha therniated and was causing unbelievable sciatic pain. I remember it seems like I was confined forever during the recovery period! I hope our PT goes well and you can get back to being more active soon!
After my back surgery was when I started to gain weight. I was not given the ok to exercise for months, then I got used to not exercising and all my weight that I had kept off about five years started coming back on. Finally I decided enough was enough and started my lifestyle change on August 20, and joined MFP 25 days ago. It has been helpful to me.
All the best to up you!0
