Marin County Half Marathon Saturday March 30, 2013

Is anyone else planning to do this?

I will be running in the half marathon and giving a fitness talk (as a volunteer). I'm pretty excited because I've been a runner for over 30 years and my goal is to possibly beat my PB from my younger days. I'm 30 lbs lighter compared to the last time I ran one and still 20 lbs lighter than when I ran marathons in my 30's. So, my goal is not only to prove I can run faster while leaner (even at age 52) but to also prove you can lift weights and still be a fast runner. I have noticed already that the leg exercises I do have improved my running performance both in HIIT and the 6 miles longer runs. I can't wait to try this out! I'm hoping my arthritic hips can handle it. What ever the outcome I intend to have fun doing it!

I may look into this!! The weather should be perfect in Marin. I have been looking for a fun half marathon to do. Have you run this before?

I have not done this particular run. I've done the Sacramento half marathon and a few others in the Sacramento area and have run the California International Marathon 6 times in about a 15 year period.

I think this one will be fun! :)

I've got to look into this. I have never been a runner, but hearing and reading from people who are avid runners how much they love it and how much fun it is, makes me want to start!

This might be a great goal to set for 2013 =)

I have run the SF Marathon (front half and back half) numerous times, the Kaiser Permanente more times than I can count. It would be nice to get out of the City and run a race. Potentially flatter???

There is also the North Face Endurance Event (Dec 1-2) which includes a half, 10k, and 5k -that is if you're not interested in the 50k :) I'm signed up for the 5k on 12/2.
