I need...........I dont know.........something.........so Im posting a small NSV
Im type 2 diabetic for 13 years now. It's always been in total control (as much as it can be for a diabetic) I took some pride in my A1C never being over 6. In July when I got sick my A1C was 8.9 !!! OMG I flipped a nutty...........welll.....I would have had I not been so sick. I was in the hospital a full week with all kinda of IVs and tests and ACU and ICU et al. The whole time I was there....they knew I was diabetic....they knew my A1c was high and yet no one said anything. It was like they didnt know what it was or care. NO one mentioned a nutritionist or dietician or a diabetic counselor et al.
............none of it mattered.......because I KNEW. I KNEW it mean my blood sugars had been running high for at least 3 months. I had called the doctor many times questioning this over the last few months. I was told to adjust the insulin. Im not a stoopid woman......I knew it was way more than that but I didnt feel good and apparently didnt care...or didnt care enough or something. I just knew my blood sugars always seemed higher than the food or situation warranted. I actually just stopped testing
Then I signed up here. Ive lost 60 pounds...I workout every night (Until this week that is owing to some mega pain issues) and my blood sugars are staying well below 120...........fasting is running about 80
THIS Dear people is stunning. Aside from the chronic pain issues right now I FEEEEEEEEEEEL mahvelous. The numbers dont mean anything to most of ya but trust me.........it IS a huge deal for a diabetic. My cholesterol was borderline high and now it's not...at all....my blood pressure has always been the low side of normal THANK GOD.
I do have just shy of a 100 lbs Id like to lose but "just" this 60 has made a huge difference and sometimes I wanna scream it to everyone who'll listen..........and yet other times I think "it's no big deal, Ive got more to go"
Anyway....have a super day people. Love hard, Play harder, Exercise Strong, Eat Healthy and Forgive Easily

I have many diabetic people in my family and I wish they would take a page from your book. But instead they just sit on the couch and do nothing about it. Way to go for standing up for your health, taking control of a bad situation and helping yourself out of it. You are an inspiration to us all! Never get discouraged. You are going ALL THE WAY!!0

This is awesome. Congrats that is a HUGE NSV not a small one!!!
Can I suggest something? My husband is a diabetic and his A1C has always been crazy. In and out of hospitals because it was way high ect. However we switched doctors and when the family doctor couldn't get it under control he sent him to a Endocrynologist (I know I really spelled that horrid) Well this doctor has finally found something that is working for him and his A1C is now around 6 which it hasn't been for a very very long time if ever. And he feels so much better. So just something to maybe think about.0
