Buying an Elliptical

Hey everyone!

I want to invest in an elliptical and will start the research!

Does anyone have any suggestions?

    I have a Octane Q35,I really like it because the spacing is just right, the strides are not too long, you almost feel like your jogging but without the impact. I purchased mine used as there was about a $1,200 difference (ouch!) from the new model with only 1 year of home use!
    So I strongly suggest you shop around the model you like, go to the store and try it out properly and then look for them used. Many people by them brand new only to leave them to gather dust after a few months!

    I have used the very high end, expensive ones at the gym, and I had bought myself a cheap $300 one from Walmart. I get a pretty darn good sweat inducing workout on both! I would rather have a higher end model at home, but bought what I could afford at the time. Look around online, you may find a deal on the one you want. And don't be afraid to buy used. It could have been an impulse buy, was barely used, and they just want to get rid of it!

    I have a True. It was very expensive - I want to say $3000. I love it. It has variable stride - which is good for me because I'm 5'3" - so I can get a comfortable stride. It is very stable and does not wobble. I bought it at a fitness store and got one year same as cash - so that was sweet.

    When I bought it, someone pointed me to "TreadmillDoctor.com." The website has reviews of all the popular models of treadmills and ellipticals. I found to be very informative. Some of the more well known models are not very highly rated. So the website will help you steep clear of the mediocre models. Plus, they have recommendations at many price points.

    I just bought a top-of-the-line Yowza Captiva cardio-core elliptical two months ago and wouldn't trade this thing for the world. Talk about the most smoothest and quiet elliptical for the home.....you got it right here! VERY expensive at $1700 (on sale....normally goes for 2200 and as much as 3900) but check the site out and you'll see why THIS elliptical is off the chain. They got a patent on this thing so no other company can duplicate it at all.

    Another vote for Octane fitness. I have the Q47. Definitely feels more like a running motion and more challenging. Can change the stride as well.
