Longtime lurker finally coming out

Hello all...I have been on mfp intermittently since April 2011--and every time I've used it it has worked, so I'm not sure exaclty why I ever stopped. But anyway, I'm back now, and really buckling down. I've got 15-25 pounds I'd like to finally get rid of--they've been hanging on in various forms since I got married 10 years ago, and two kids plus the stresses of life in general kind of cemented them in.

3 years ago I was at my highest (non-prego) weight - 178 (I'm 5'4", med frame) - when I decided to make a change. Portion control and C25K got me 20 pounds down, with out even trying it seemed! Last year I trained for a marathon and got down to 140 but without the strength training I should have been doing. I finished the marathon injured and now, almost a year later am finally back to running WITH strength training this time.

I'm currently at 149 and in the end I am less concerned about the number on the scale than how I look and feel. I'm guessing at my goal weight being somewhere around 130, but I think it is a resonable number. I'm exercising at least 5x a week and doing my best to eat as clean as I can--wine and chocolate are my downfalls.

Anyway, all that said....I'm also looking for a support group with similar goals. I post sporadically here (much more a lurker) and am so fed up with FB right now, I could use a new group of friends! I thouroughly enjoy the support, motivation, success and sense of humor in this community, and am glad to be (an uncloseted) part of it! Thanks all!!

I'm doing P90X *most* days--I try to really hit the weight/strength days because I know I can make up the cardio days with running. This is the second time I've attempted and am now in the first week of phase 2. I'm counting on myself to keep up my motivation to finish the whole program this time.

8 lbs in a week is awesome! I keep reading and seeing amazing Insanity results on here and I might just have to invest. Although, we also have a very underutilized gym membership that I really should be taking more advantage of.....

I figure as long as I'm doing something most days, I'm better off!

    Congrats on your new baby!
