A little nervous...

I have a "health assessment" on Monday at the gym I'm working out at. I am excited because it will help get me on a program to be better but I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little nervous. The reason I'm a little nervous is because even though I know it's absurd and silly, I can't help but think of what the trainer will think of how out of shape I am. Did any of you experience similar "gym anxiety" when you started your workout journey?

Well...my health assessment is done with my PCP, my Endocrinologist because that is in their area of expertise.

But, I absolutely LOVE the personal trainer at the gym I go to. Her name is Jet... She is AWESOME. No judgement at all, she took into consideration, the limitations that my Podiatrist enforced upon me and gave me one heck of a workout schedule too!!!

Its not absurd or silly... clearly you are looking forward to this and that is a good thing!

    Cheers!!!

My brother is a personal trainer at a pretty big gym, I have never heard him talk badly of ANYONE that's gone there (cept his wife! ha ha!)

I was a little nervous when I first saw a personal trainer, because I knew I was walking in to basically tell him I know nothing about strength training and need to be shown how to do it. In the end I figured he'd realise that I'm doing the better thing by actually learning to do it right than looking like an idiot in the weights room and doing something stupid. Also he was dead nice and set me up for goals related to my hobbies(rock climbing, pole dancing) and with a good range of exercises so I was glad I went (:
  • Well I don't go to the gym, maybe someday in the future I'll start. I don't LOOK out of shape, but I really am. I've always been last during my high school running tests. It was soooo embarrassing. Anyway, I know what you mean, but no one goes to a trainer already looking super buff you know? Trainers expect people who are out of shape.

    Have fun! :)
