What Gripes You in the Gym
Replies

People that do their stretching/floor exercises right next to the drinking fountain.
People that do push ups/ sit ups while in the sauna
People that DON'T WIPE THE MACHINES OFF after using them!!0 -
I had a friend who used to iron her t-shirts before going to the gym. too bad there isn't an eye-rolling smiley!0

This has been posted before, but I'll say it again..
Mine is people who go to the gym and spend most of their time caring about things that don't even effect them like girls wearing makeup, people doing 'too much' cardio or wearing clothes that is nicer than theirs therefore they must deserve to be mocked.
It's sad how many times these things appear on boards like this (along with people who can't lift as heavy as they can, people who walk slowly on the treadmill, etc). Worry about yourselves.0 -
CREEPERS!! I have one guy that will not leave me alone, follows me around chatting when i'm trying to concentrate and insists on sitting on the rowing machine right next to the treadmill im on and staring at my butt. I've tried avoiding him but he's really loud and in your face and thinks its a social club
Gym boy barbies...arrive in pairs and swagger about admiring their dreadful form in the mirrors whilst congratulating themselves on how heavy a weight they can 'lift'. They tie up the same piece of equipment forever and its always the one you need
people who never wipe equipment down..sure im sweaty but it doesnt mean i want your share too
people who gawp when i heavy lift...so im a girl, i lift heavy GET OVER IT!!0 -
My gripe is people that gripe about other people at the gym.
That is all
I finally had to drop my gym membership and set up a home gym. Much better, of course cleaner, and not weirdos
(except me LOL)0 -
if someone is in the way it gives a good opertunity to say a pleasent "hello and would you mind if i could just get to..." especially is they are new and could feel slightly out of place, where i go there are a bunch of regulars who know each other, the people who only do classes and the "newbies" everyone gels fine..
there is one guy who does crazy stuff on the elipticals he rotates his head opposite to his arm sweeping his head through 180degrees - the trick is to learn his times and not attend due to laughter.
im a bit miffed how a forum poster somewhere in the topic can say too much colonge in one sentence and the next say smelly BO! i shave before going on occasion and as a rule we men wear aftershave.
the thing we have to rememeber is there are five types people who go to the gym:-
the socialists
the fat loosers/weight maintainers
the hardcore fitness maintainers
the meat heads - the ones who do actually lift
the steriod head - the one who doesnt actually do any work at all yet develops more and more muscle week on week
each group views the other as an enemy, i blend into the top three and disassociate myself with the lower two0 -
Guys who claim multiple equipment in the gym when they can clearly use only one thing at a time!!! *Guy in squat rack when I walk up to the only available bench "sorry sweety I'm using that" I go to pull up bars "sorry hun" he points to his keys sitting on floor next to said pull up bars* RAAAAGGGGGGGGEEEEEEE!!!
Surely - you just smile say "no problem" and carry on using said pull-up bar.0 -
I've been going in the morning before work and no one annoys me then. *shrug* I think the people that go in the morning are there to get in and get out, and are more courteous to others there trying to do the same thing. JMO.
People that annoy me are ones who use power/squat racks for random things that you don't even need it for. When it's not busy, sure go right ahead. use it for whatever you want. But when they are all taken and people have to wait to use them? Seriously go do your curls somewhere else....
People that set up circuits for themselves that are comprised of like 4 different pieces of equipment and go back between all of them... again.. if it's not busy go for it. If it is? Use one at a time. You don't need to hog 4 different things at one time.
Weird middle-aged man who sits on a stationary bike not pedaling and staring at me the entire time I'm there... he kind of creeps me out not gonna lie.0 -
The thing that put me off using the gym was people who rest between sets on the machine or over the free weights and don't want you to break in and do your sets in between, so meanwhile you are cooling off.
I can do a whole workout at home in a much shorter time and I am doing a lot of body reistance exercises so I use a dumbell routine where I use weights.0 -

That's when you say "It doesn't look like you're using this one right now" and use it anyway.0 -

I agree ^^^^^ These posts annoy me because so many people say how annoying it is when girls wear makeup to the gym. Or do a lot of cardio. Or etc etc. How does that even affect you, let alone annoy you?0 -
Stinky people. BAD BO and BAD BREATH! I mean, come on!!! People should know when they smell. Wash your gym clothes. I have a few gym clothes but I really like this specific black capri gym pants since it doesn't show sweat and my quik dry running shirt. I have to wash them after working out every single time so I can wear them the next day.
Also, I brush my teeth and chew gum before heading to the gym simply because I know how it feels to be on the treadmill, running, panting and someone comes up and uses the machine next to you (eventhough there's a whole empty row of machines) and they have bad breath! This happened to me a few times and I have to change machine mid workout.
That sucks!
lol its a gym your going to get the stench of BO i mean yea wearing same clothes as day before (DISGUSTING who does that??) but if you work hard enough your probably going to smell whether you wana or not!0 -
I just wish mofos would put the weights back on the rack. I don't care about grunting, i don't care if you get the elliptical next to mine, in an otherwise empty gym, i don't care if you sing along to music only you can hear, just put the damn weights back on the rack.
i wipe the machine down when I get on it (so i dont get cooties), if i feel like it...but then again, I don't leave stuff drenched like a fire hose either.0 -
People who don't clean off the equipment when they're done using it. Nasty, nasty, nasty. I have seen so many people do this that I just automatically wipe each machine down before I get on them.
In the locker room, people who leave disgusting things in the showers like used tampons, band-aids, etc. Nasty, nasty, nasty.0 -

Exactly what I was think. Its a gym, if you smell like roses when you work out then you're not doing it right.0 -
The only thing that really bugs me is the cleaning of your machine.
If you want to sit at me an gawk. Go for it, i know you just want to be like me lol!!
Check out my machine screen and try to keep up.0
