Fat/Carb/Protein ratio

I just read the book "Secrets to a Healthy Metabolism"
going into I knew that they were not going to be a fan of carbs because the book was forwarded by the author of the book "Wheat Belly"
They suggest that your diet consist of mostly healthy fats and protein. They shared evidence to suppor this.
I try to take "evidence" with a grain of salt, because I could just as easily find evidence/studies to support the opposite.
Anyway, the book does suggest 35g of fiber daily, but says carbs should only be 30% of your diet.
Most other things I've read say carbs should take up 50-60%.
I was curious if anybody had any thoughts, tips, or suggestions.
Does it really matter the ratio? Should the focus be more on the "right foods"?
Thank you for any and all help.

I just switched to 40/30/30 and although it was hard at first, I find that I'm having some really great success with it. I think there's a lot to be said for eating a hearty amount of protein.
Try it yourself and see if you like it, if not - no harm done.0
