ughhh can i just isolate for the next 6 weeks

It is sooo hard to make any progress when you socialize. I do so well and lose a couple pounds then just bounce right back up after some socializing. All the tempting food plus social pressures always ends up with me eating more than I should. When I just stay in its so much easier to just eat my chicken and veggies and do well. I've been losing and gaining the same 2 lbs for like over a month now and its getting annoying. I feel like just isolating myself until I reach my goal (which is only 6 lbs away). I've come so far and want to just finally get to my goal already.

I know just what you mean, it can be difficult sometimes to balance a social life with trying to lose weight! When I go out I often drive so no calories from alcohol to worry about!

However, I have a very slim friend who has a great social life. She eats out a lot and has what she wants (although I've noticed she rarely wants dessert). At home she eats very healthily and has decent sized portions, lots of fish, chicken, salads and vegetables. She also exercises regularly. Her weight has stayed the same for years. It seems she has the balance right between socialising and staying slim.

Kai Greene (professional body builder) cooks all 6 of his daily meals first thing in the morning, puts it into tupperware, puts it into a thermal bag then back pack and takes it with him wherever he goes. I saw this on his documentary a day in the life of kai greene and it makes so much sense, your not tempted because you have your meals with you made and ready.

Yep, I feel the same way about socializing, and why i'm home on mfp instead of
At a party tonight lol. Honesty though yes were here to lose weight but we
Need to get healthy inn how we approach food and eating as well... Find a balance. I'm working on that.
So until I have mastered the art of self control.. I don't think I'll be going out
With friends for a lil while.

i am actually in the same boat as you. I was doing so well until i came to school. Socialization with friends during weekends has made me hit a dead-end in my weight loss journey. I have been gaining and losing the same two pounds also. For about two weeks now, I have been doing well so hopefully I am able to maintain it for the rest of the semester.

Thanks giving weekend here...I'm through day one but I noticed that my coping mechanisms i.e. not having bad stuff in the house, left me without any resistance when the snacks came out. Ha ha. We'll get there, I'm about 7 lbs away myself, and at least if we take the slow road it's less likely to come back.
