Hi just wondering if anyone can help me.. I do a kettlebell class once a week which contains exercises like kettlebell swings, squats, twists, arm raises etc all done with a 4kg kettlebell and i was wondering if anyone else does a similar class and what they enter the exercise as for calories burned as cant find anything in the database....

Thanks

I usually log it as low impact aerobics (i'm a beginner and just do mine at home with 3kg kettlebell)

how high is your heart rate? and how hard is the class?

I'd imagine a KB class would burn a similar amount to circuit training (probably less) given that your HR was high throughout the entire class.

    Love kettlebells!

I've not done them in a while due a shoulder injury, but in terms of logging I'd likely do what I currently do with zumba - create a new exercise, and work out the calories count with my heart rate monitor.

However, as others have said, in the absence of a HRM I would suspect that circuits are comparable. Kettlebells, much as it just looks like a weight class, does really get the heart pumping.

    Enjoy!
