Please fill out profiles

I see so many introductions asking for friends, then I go to the profile and find essentially nothing. It would be nice to know a little about who I'm friending (or not friending).
P.S: to long-term members: Yes, I'm a newbie and did a search - found that this hasn't come up for months.

I keep trying to fill it in, but then I get distracted by something shiny and forget.0

It also helps if the profile is set to Everyone. I just had to go change mine.0

You can add me if you like my profile is filled in and my diary is also viewable0 -
I agree with you absolutely there, but my main peeve is friend requests with no message then you go to a profile to try and figure out who and why, and their entire profile is Private!0

I just don't accept people who don't include a message. Especially when they don't have a profile. I prefer people who tell me why they want to be friends or at least something about themselves0

I leave them hanging for about a week then reject them too. I like to give them a chance to realize that they need to give me something other than a name and MAYBE an avatar. But they rarely follow it up :P0

I tend to accept all friend requests. There may be a reason why they haven't filled out their profile, I know I didn't fill mine out until a day or two ago. I get distracted easily and it wasn't on my list of priorities. Perhaps the person just joined and they want to see if there are people out there who can help them on their journey before committing to this site?0

I agree. I usually go to the profile before I consider giving advice on a thread and its surprising how many times the profile has identified a health problem not in the topic which is critical to know before giving advice. Anyone with health problems should make sure they list this in their profile. That includes diabetes, high blood pressure, PCOS, PKU, Crones, etc. Maybe there should even be a special place on our profiles for that info.0

Not only for friend requests, but it'd be really nice if people had info in their profiles when asking for advice, too.
Advice for someone who's 20 and has 10 pounds to lose is going to be different than someone 40 with 50 pounds to lose. And an open food diary helps, too.0 -
My profile is completely filled out.0

My profile is accurate.
If someone Fr's me I always request full name, birth date, ss # and mother's maiden name as well as the street you grew up on and name of your first pet.0 -
You have no way of knowing whether there are any falsehoods in my profile.0

Haha I'm new and didn't realise that profile matters alot?
But ok I just rectified it and set mine to MFP members only instead of just friends.0 -
Hi. I'm also near Seattle and my profile is complete. I'm pretty new myself. Welcome!0
