Can I lose 30 pounds by February?

Hi I'm 54. Currently 203 lb, 5'1" tall. My long term goal is 130, which is about right for my height and build. So that's over 70 pounds and seems really daunting.

I have an event in February, wondering if 30 pounds by then is a reasonable, healthy goal. Do you think it's a good idea to have a goal, or just see how it goes along the journey. Thanks to those with experience who can answer this!

If you are committed, yes, very obtainable. If you are physically able to exercise, or at least walk, yeppers, without a doubt!

Nothing is easy, in saying that, if you want it you can do it. Don't let anyone stand in your way.

Yes! It is just a matter of commitment to your goal. My biggest problem is being honest with my calories. I am great at guessing portion sizes, but I just don't want to record it. If you can be honest with yourself, the weight will come off. Good Luck!

its not easy but if u are dedicated to doing it you sure can. some weeks will be better then other! but with healthy eating and exercise you sure can! a healthy average of weightloss is 2lbs a week!!! very possible for u to lose more then 30 before feb. :-)
  • You can!! I have lost 27.5Ib since July. The only way to do it is stay positive, use the food diary honestly and exercise. I have arthritis in both my knees, so exercise can be difficult some days. Saying that, I grab opportunities where I can e.g. using the stairs on a good day, walking the dogs a bit faster than usual...and it has really made a difference..physically and mentally.
    Good luck!!
