I tended toward the angry and old school, but in the past Rage Against the Machine, DJ Keoki (Ego Trip is classic but moves well), God Lives Under Water, Stabbing Westward (not for long, though, it is dismal).

On the less angry, more recent side, I love Ok Go, and totally scope out the Eurovision finalists every year for peppy new fluff. AleStorm is absurd, but works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=os5TXyJlEMc kind of hard to keep going while giggling, but it's doable :D

If you're looking for really fast-paced songs to run to, or to do a workout to, try using nightcore-d versions of your favorite songs. It's basically regular songs from all genres sped up and techno-fied.
I like Nightcore: Numa Numa (When You Leave)
    Nightcore: Dam Dadi Doo
    NightCore: Feel The Stars
    The Killers: Mr. Brightside
    Pendulum: Watercolor
    DDR - Drop The Bomb
    Darude : Sandstorm

K-pop also works really well: BigBang, 2ne1, Super Junior, SHINee, 4minute (for the ladies)
Oh and ChildofArtemi: Its Gangnam Style by Psy, he's a k-pop artist.
