I read this article (http://www.cnn.com/2012/09/21/health/weight-exercise-loss/index.html) and it explained what I have noticed with my yo-yo dieting all my life. I am definatly going to try to keep my workouts to around 300 cal and see if I can finially work on both eating good and working out at the same time.. Which I've always had trouble doing both well at the same time. Do any of you notice that when you work out it makes your appetite soar beyond your will power????

Working out definitely increases my appetite by a large amount.
But not beyond my willpower.0 -
Definitely. I plateaued while training for a 5k, kept losing and gaining the same ~3lbs. UGH.0

I've been doing nothing but thinking about eating for the last 3 hours...I hate morning workouts, I'm just hungry all day.0

Working out makes me less hungry. I have to force myself to eat dinner after I work out most days.0

Same. The days I net lowest are with my biggest workouts - I just don't feel hungry. I end up spreading that day's deficit out a bit over the next day and the day after.0 -

Same here. On the days I run, I am not as hungry. On the days I don't work out or run, I am STARVING.....0 -
I have noticed that just thinking about working out makes me hungry.0

First, the intense exercisers were probably compensating for their extra activity by eating more food. Although the added consumption noted in their food diaries wasn't enough to explain their smaller-than-expected weight loss, Rosenkilde thinks they were likely eating more food than they jotted down.
They ate their exercise calories back.....0 -
I'm not sure about less workouts but I can say I started this on 10/2 and weighed in at 163.5lbs and now on 10/8 I'm weighing 167.5. I am so upset right now with gaining 4 lbs. I am working out 5 days a week at 60 minutes each workout. The workouts I'm doing range from Zumba, Pilates, Piloxing and Kickboxing. I am keeping within the 1200 calories a day, with a little under and a little over on a couple of days this past week. Anyone have any idea with the exercising I'm doing and keeping my calories in check why I gained 4 lbs in 7 days? Is this normal your first week. So frustrated and upset!0

how is your sodium levels?0 -
I am just starting out and only walking 2 miles and riding the stationary bike some, but I have noticed that I am not hungry afterwards.0

I find that my post w/o shake I have come up with satiates my appetite. It is very nutrient dense, and under 400 calories.0

It may be water gain/retenion if you've started working out just over the last 7days. Your muscles will hold on to water until they have healed from your workouts. Give it 3 weeks and then see where you are weight wise.0 -
Perhaps with all of that working out you should up your calories to about 1350-1400 per day. I don't think your body is getting enough so it wants to keep all the weight on -- like what happens in starvation mode.0

jeleclekat: Since you asked I checked the daily summary and I did go over in sodium a few days this past week. I will keep an eye on that and see if there's a difference. Thank you for replying and pointing that out!!!0
