I make a lot of friends on this site, but I don't post a lot. I thought I'd share a post today. :-)

SO like most, I struggled with my weight for over 10 years. I tried TONS of programs and lost only to gain again. I ended up weighing over 265lbs!!! Although I am not at my goal weight, I did want to share that I found a program this year my dr. recommended and it has been the first to help me lose and keep it off. My story is a little different because I had to stop in the middle of my weight loss. Here's how it went...

Lost 15 lbs just eating better.

Started new plan in Jan of 2012. Lost 30 lbs in 90 day!!!!! (whoooo hooooo, but keeping it off was the real test)

Stopped the program and just maintained for 2 months. Didn't gain one pound! (that was a first ever) Now 220 (5'10")

Found out I was pregnant in the spring and continued the plan on maintenance with dr approval

Now I am 7.5 months preggo, due to give birth next month and I've only gained 6 lbs.

I guess I just wanted to share my excitement from the initial 15 then 30 lb loss, also my maintenance excitement because I think we can ALL agree that keeping it off sometimes is the hardest. But then also I wanted to share my pregnancy. Normally I can gain 30-40 lbs EASILY during a pregnancy. This has been such an amazing difference. (4th pregnancy) I feel more healthy this pregnancy than ever before. I am not just eating whatever I want to cause "I'm eating for two". I've stayed on the plan, which my OB approves, and it's kept my eight in check!!

I really look forward to having the baby and getting back on the weight loss phase of my program. That plus nursing should really jump start my loss again.

Just excited and grateful and I wanted to share.

What is your story?

You give me hope girl! My weight loss journey started when I was diagnosed with Diabetes last year. I was told I needed to lose about 100 lbs and my symptoms from diabetes should pretty much dissappear. I am over half way there, I have lost 63 lbs thus far.

My husband and I also just got married a year and a half ago. I am terrified that if we decide to have children (neither of us are sure about this yet) I will go from FINALLY having the body I have been working for to gaining at least half of it back! So your story definitely gives me hope that all my hard work wouldn't be for naught if we decide to have a child!

Thanks for sharing. I am putting off trying to get pregnant until next summer so I have time to reach my goal but I have been fearful that I will only get to enjoy my goal for a short time if I get pregnant again so I argue with myself all the time. Thanks for giving me some hope!

Congrats and great job! Take it from someone who has maintained her weight loss for over 20 years...at some point, especially as you get older, you're gonna have to add exercise to maintain your losses. You may even have to add exercise to reach your goal weight.

    Congrats on your pregnancy too!

Congrats girl! This is a great story! I see a lot of people that I know who make positive lifestyle changes and start to lose weight...and then get pregnant and it all goes out the window because they can eat for two. You can show all the mamas out there what a healthy pregnancy looks like. Good for you, and congrats on the baby!
