Just completed my first marathon. Chicago Oct 7 2012 goal was between 4:30 and 5 hours. Actual finish 4:26:10! I am so relieved this is over. I have been training as I can since February and had injury after injury, work and kids, never felt like I was getting the training in I needed. But I did and I did it better than I planned. This group was supportive and helpful and I just wanted to say Thanks.

I'm guessing you swore off marathoning ever again at mile 22 and today you are looking for you next race...

  • Congratulations, that is an awesome result!

So are you planning your next one yet?
  • Wow, that's great! I bonked so bad in my first marathon that it drove me back to halfs for a year. It sounds like you planned for it well. Even though it really, really hurts and it's a really, really long way (for me, at least), I haven't found anything that matches the self satisfaction when you finally finish! So next up - breaking 4 hours?
