Arthur kicks my butt!

My arthritis is so bad right now and my weight is slowly climbing the wrong way as I can't do the exercise I need to to keep going. My legs & hips are aching so bad it hurts to walk.
Not motivated right now.
Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

What about swimming? Do you have access to a pool? Cause you could have terrific workouts - without your joints having to bear the weight....I think it might be a terrific alternative.......

I will look into the YMCA and see what they offer.

    - Focus on a deficit via diet.
    - Take fish oil capsules (as you prob know, not just for arthritis - somehow, facilitates fat loss).
    - Continue to do exercises within the limits of pain. Even if it's just very basic bodyweight movements and stretches.

2nding aqua fit; an organization near you might have an actual program, like this:

I thought this was going to be about Arthur the Aardvark... *kicks rock*

Oh, and I back the swimming suggestion. For my friend with Fibromyalgia, it's the easiest exercise, so maybe it will be for you, too. :flowerforyou:

Would it be possible to work with a physiotherapist. My mum ended up having to do that before she could get joint replacement surgery. It was really amazing how much her mobility increased. It was very painful mind you. She would cry through some of the sessions, but she was really motivated to get the surgery so she stuck with it.

Also wanted to add that my Mum used alternating hot and cold packs and various anti- inflammatory and pain meds.

    Thanks for all the suggestions.

I am however way too young for joint replacements and my doctor won't do it as it may only last for ten years, then what? he said.

A physiotherapist will break my bank.

It sounds like some swimming might help.
