People who exercise in the AM

I was hoping I could get some advice, I want to start some basic exercises when I wake up in the morning and just wanted some input from everyone who exercises in the morning before they start their day. Is it better to do it in the morning? Feel any more tired/energized during the day as a result of morning exercises? What kind of exercise do you do/suggest? Thanks in advance for support and input

I get up at 5 to squeeze my workout, because if I don't I know it won't get done, I'm just too busy. I lay my workout clothes and my clothes for the rest of the day out the night before a d make sure my lunch is packed too. I workout at home so I dont have to worry about leaving myself time to drive there.0

I hit the gym from 6-7 a.m. 3 days a week. I feel better exercising in the morning, rather than after work when I'm tired and lacking energy.
I can't say one way or the other as to whether it gives me more energy through the day, but I can say I feel better exercising.
I generally do a ten minute warm-up on the stationary bike, then work out with weights. I also do a lot of lunges, squats and step-ups, which focus on the legs and butt.
I do "boy" push-ups and enjoy those because I feel STRONG. I do dips too, to hit the triceps.0 -
Personally, my motivation wanes with every second I'm awake! Not just with working out, I'm useless for anything productive after 6 PM. I prefer to exercise in the AM because then it is done and out of the way. It also gives me a better idea of how to plan my food for the day. For instance, since I worked out this AM I had an extra coffee treat with lunch knowing that I'm still within my calorie goals. On days where I intend to exercise in the evening, I'm well aware that it may not happen so I either have to skip the extra treat or seriously commit to a workout in my de-motivation (read: evening) time. There have been many times where I thought "I can have that treat, I'm sure to work out later!" but then I don't work out and I feel ****ty about it. So for me, it's about setting up for success. I do feel energized for the day.
Since I try to fit in exercise before work in the AM, I don't want to spend 30 minutes commuting to and from the gym. Workout videos are my best friend! Step aerobics, weight training, zumba, you can get ANYTHING on a video and do it in the comfort of your living room.0 -
I prefer morning to get it done and out of the way, I am too tired after work and know it would be easier to miss my session. I have also found with my running that my perceived level of exertion is lower and my results better in the morning, so the same run in the morning I tend to do quicker than in the afternoon.
I am also a morning person and would rather get up early and go to bed early. Everyone is different though so why not try a few sessions at different times and see what works best for you.0 -

I usually get about 25-45 minutes in at the gym about 2-3 days a week before going to work in the morning and I have found that it seems to increase my energy level and also boost my mood.0

"Surya Namaskar" is Sanskrit which means obeisance or prostrations (Namaskar) to the sun (Surya). It implies that one rise before sun rise in order to do this exercise or pay obeisance to the rising sun. This is around 5 to 5:30 AM. Of course, this exercise is good no matter what time you may use it, but it is best done while the stomach is empty, before eating. It is a yogic exercise which consists of ten particular postures, one following another, in a fixed, cyclic order to ensure improvement and good health in one's digestion, agility, rejuvenation, beauty and longevity.
