Swimmers and Runners

I'm looking for a few more friends, and would love to link up with people who are into swimming...plus, I'm not a runner just yet, but will be starting C25K in November, when I can get my treadmill - my neighbourhood's not great for jogging outdoors at night - so I'd love to get to know some runners too :)

    Adding you! I'm actually contemplating joining my local YMCA's Masters swim team. I've slowed down terribly over the years, but it's like I've got chlorine in my blood - the pool is home!
  • i swim every other day at my local pool, well i try to !......love swimming, and its the only exercise that doesnt leave me bed bound for 3 days....add me if you would like, swimming is the best for burning those calories!!!!!

    Adding you! I love swimming, although I don't go very often, I did the Aspire channel swim last year (over 12 weeks in a pool, not the actual channel!) And I try and fit in 2 5k runs a week, am hoping to build up to 10k by Christmas. X

  • I've been running for a while, currently working back up to a 5k after a break, and I just started swimming again yesterday! Add me if you like. I'm on everyday.

    Swimmer here. I´ve been swimming since preschool, just stopped during my pregnancies. I try to swim 1h 2 times a week, that is around 4.4km for me. Pool is nice, goggles on, hair together and I can dive in the water where noone is talking to me. With 4 kids home I enjoy that.
    Just started with the running, I am making progress. I want to run a 5k next May.

    I am slooowly working up my running endurance. I'm doing A LOT better than I was just a month ago even.

    I also try to swim a couple times a week if not more. We are joining the YMCA (have scholarship app in, waiting to hear what we will have to pay) so that we can swim in the lap pool which is indoors while the kids do the kiddie cardio class. :-)

    ADD ME; I'm a runner though I am recovering from whip lash so my runs are a little shorter and slower than they were, but I'll get back up to speed.

    I am also learning to swim, however I do not have a pool (yet...that's next fall) and there is not a close in door pool (the closest is 30 minutes away) so I'm not sure if I'll get any swimming done through the winter. I think my neighbor has now closed her pool because she does not have a heater; mine will have a heat pump, so I can get in ~ 10 months of swimming.
