I just bought some strawberries. Kept in fridge. They are moldy.
I had bought multigrain Kroger sandwich thins. They lasted for over a month. I bought the whole wheat kind--BOOM, mold in like three days.
Idgaf if the multigrain is obvs. more processed, hence less mold. WHY IS MY FOOD MOLDING SO FAST. HOW CAN I STOP IT.
PLEASE HURRY, I'M HUNGRY.

I keep my bread products frozen and just take out one as I need it as they go bad too fast and are too expensive to waste. I also find fruits and veg go moldy too fast so I tend to buy mostly frozen versions of stuff and just take out enough to use. If I buy fresh, I use it the same day or face the wrath of mold the next day or so.
There's nothing worse than biting into moldy food, ugh.0 -
The less processed your food is, the faster it spoils. Think about the chemicals that keep food for a month...preservatives, dyes, and such...you may have to deal with shopping more often but atleast you aren't putting those chemicals in your body.
Here is a pretty good article about keeping fresh fruits and veggies fresh for longer.

P.S. When I know I am not going to eat my berries or bananas in 3-4 days, I will freeze them in ziploc bags and use them in recipes or smoothies. They last a long time in the freezer!0 -
Yep, real food goes bad faster.
The reason people started making white flour and white rice was to keep the vermin out. Think about that- the rats won't eat it, why should you?
The half life for fresh fruit is very short. And berries, it's a day or two.0 -

OP: I bought some plastic food storage containers on Amazon that work very well to keep food fresh longer. I had some mushrooms that I stored in one of the containers and then forgot about. Ten or twelve days later they were still good and didn't go slimy like forgotten mushrooms usually do. (I've got way too much stuff in the fridge and things get buried or pushed to the back a lot.)
Anyway, the were called Kinetic Go Green Nano Silver - they sound like a super-hero's food storage containers.0 -

cool story, bro0 -
just eat it ... unless your allergic0

I often freeze bananas, and used to freeze bread... except I rarely eat bread, so when I buy it, it's supposed to be for the next few weeks. It's just become "the next few hours."
I don't know where I've been that I haven't thought of freezing berries, though. I'll be slapping that **** in the freezer from now on.
P.S. Yeah, I know WHY foods have built in shelf lives.0 -
that's the reason for white flour and white rice? Seriously?0

So wait... what are you asking, exactly?0

You've convinced me. Keep your Paleo diet, I'm going on the "Pal-Rat Diet". I'm going to start eating stuff that rats eat because they are the very image of health and hygiene.0 -
