Need advise for gym work out

I haven't been to a gym in at least 6 months and it's been even longer since I've had an actual exercise regime. I have been struggling to develop a fitness routine at home, but i am not disciplined enough to actually work out at home. I finally bit the bullet and signed up for a year long membership at a local gym. Once I get in the groove, I absolutely love going, getting a good work out in and how it feels when its done.
I am looking for tips on workout routines, what days I should do what muscle groups, alternating cardio, etc...
Also my routine has always been 30 minutes of cardio each time I went to the gym. Given the lack of available time, I won't be able to devote that much time. For what I want to achieve is it best to focus more on strength training and less on cardio. Or if I can do a minimum of 5 days alternate weights/cardio/weights/cardio/weights?
Schedule:
My schedule is tight, so I will be going to the gym in the early morning and I will have 30-45 minutes on most days.
Mon-Fri; then every other weekend I have more time to myself to go to the gym.
Fitness Goals:
Toning, Strength training- esp abs, butt and arms
Lose 30 lbs and/or down 3 sizes
Overall feel better, more energy, less aching.
Positive feedback appreciated

Excellent amount of time for a split lifting routine, enough to hit all the major areas.
Then that every other weekend, you do some cardio to use your newly strengthen muscles.
Wed you do some recovery cardio too.
Based on plans here - http://www.exrx.net/WeightTraining/Instructions.html
2 day split workout.
Can select from Push / Pull routines, or Upper / Lower, or Torso / Arms & Legs. I think Upper / Lower gives you options to end week on cardio where you can push yourself, like if Fri was upper body, than Sat can be fun cardio at hard level using legs, and Sun can be something gentle or rest day.
So under Push / Pull routines, is your 2 days of workouts, and each muscle group to look in, and different exercises.
Just read through the instructions to see how much to select, view the video for proper form.0 -
Thanks, I will look into that site0
