Naturally Shiny Hair

Hey guys.
I have never posted on here before, but I have a cute question for ya.
What are some foods that I can eat, or vitamins I can take to make my hair naturally shine?
I don't have dull hair... You can look at my profile pic... but I would like it to shine more.
Thanks! :)

Make sure you have enough fats/oils in your diet.. Maybe a Omega 3 everyday... And this....
If you have a beauty supply place.. Ask for "Kendra" Silkening Gloss. Its a oil, and after styling your hair, you put two tiny drops in your hands, rub hands together, and run it threw your hairs. Not at the roots, moreso towards the middle threw the ends. Definately shiny Hair..

My dad always said eating fish makes your hair shiny. Probably because I didn't like it when I was little. :)

A girl at work always had such shiny hair and I asked her what she used on it. She said it was by Paul Mitchel. It smelled like fruit or apple if I remember right. It was in a clear bottle called Super Skinny Serum. I bought some and it didn't work on mine like it did hers. She had very straight hair and mine is wavy/curly. I didn't like it at all on my hair. It was greasy or something. So it probably depends on what kind of hair you have. :)

I haven't thought of Omega-3.. Thanks! And my mother is a beautician, so I grew up with all that. But I want to get in more natural stuff like Vitamins and herbs.

Biotin! I take three biotin pills per day. It's a miracle worker. Do you color your hair? Mine gets bleached out in the summer from the sun/sea but I don't color-color it except for a wash in-wash out tint once in a while. I think colored it makes it way, way dull.

Argan oil! You wouldn't injest it, but applied to the hair shaft itself it does wonders.

stop bleaching and flat ironing and blow drying your hair. (if you do) this can damage hair and dull it big time. but leave in conditioner helps.
  • Also you can do a treatment for your hair. I did this with my kids and we had fun even my son. We had a Spa Day. Avocado, Mayonaise. It was easy to do cheap.. I left it on my hair for 45 minutes. The funny thing is my son's hair came out the softest and super shiney. Try it google it!!

Shampoos with Keratin are supposed to help.

You can also buy some resveratrol or collagen supplements that have the keratin protein in it.
I've not seen just a straight up keratin supplement.

as to what to eat... im not sure...
i have rather troublesome hair, it knots instantly for no apparent reason :( so i always use a hair serum or oil. I didnt look where your from so this may be no use... i live in the uk currently im using a coconut oil hair shine from the body shop which is really good! its a solid oil you just rub it between your hands and put on the bottom half of your hair. Argon oil is supposed to be amazing but i havent been able to justify the price yet...

A big thing to consider... are you washing you hair too much?!? excessive washing gets rid of the natural good oils! i try and only do mine every 3 days, i wear it down day its washed, down next day, wear it up the following day and wash it again the next.

TBH this is really good advice, especially if you're prone to frizziness and you wash your hair daily.

I would say not to wash your hair daily unless it's very fine and oily. It dries the hell out of it and leaves it prone to frizz and breakage. Invest in some dry shampoo for places that get oily a little faster (like bangs) or just use baby powder.

You should only use one pump, or two if you have really thick/long hair. I use it but I find it's only good for taming frizz and not so much for adding shine. I have wavy hair, too—it works best for people who flat iron a lot. Paul Mitchell has a lot of awesome products for different hair types, though. Worth the price.

This. If you can get away with just rinsing your hair instead of washing it, at least every other day it will do wonders for shine and overall health,

I have really shiny hair, and I *think* it's because I eat a lot of avocados and nuts :)

Neutrogena makes a product called Triple Moisture Leave In Treatment that I use every day. I bleach, but my daughter has naturally thick, gorgeous brunette hair and it does not make either one of us oily or heavy. It is an awesome product.
