How did I get new stretch marks and fast?

I didn't gain or lose weight, but I did some 30 day shred and other exercises. I noticed new strerch marks. Do you get them from losing muscle or losing inches in size even if you don't lose weight? My boyfriend said I must have gained recently, but doesn't say on the scale.

I never actually noticed stretch marks on myself much until after I had LOST weight. Not saying that's the same for everyone... But you've lost weight and inches... So, my guess would be that it's because of the losses that you're seeing them now. That's not based on scientific evidence, just my own experience.0

Hmm good point...when I was fat I noticed only a few small ones and even when I lost weight, I had a tan...could my tan have faded then I noticed? Or if you lose a few inches fast then maybe? Do you get them from rapid loss not just from gaining weight?0

Bump! I have ancient stretchmarks on my upper arms from them being big, but I've also got newer ones since I started regular exercise (particularly weights). Interesting!0

i have stretch marks for as long as i remember. i have never been too fat before but i still somehow i have them for the longest time on my thighs, calves, hips and breasts and a little near my lower waist. does any of you have any idea how to get rid of them? i really want to get a clean smooth skin and i have no idea what to do about it.0

You can get stretch marks from gaining or losing too fast. I assume losing inches could do it as well. However, far more likely is hormonal changes. You can get stretch marks from hormonal changes too.

New stretch marks are stretched out or even swollen and pink and itch or even hurt a little. Old stretch marks that are showing up from weight loss are skin color or slightly paler or darker (depending on complexion) and you notice them because they become kindof dimpley.0

I heard people get them from growing (from those who had them for as long as you can remember).
I read sunless tanner helps hide them. I also heard moisturizing them helps them...not sure...seems like when I was tan, I didn't notice kr new exercises made me get new ones. Mine are white skin like lighter than my skin or "silvery" I guess is what people describe shiney and white ones lol.
I wonder if scar cream helps or makes them worse since scar cream bleaches scars?0 -
I read people said to get them laser removed.0

i got stretch marks on my calves when i built them up to fast... i was young at the time too and started at a gym and went crazy trying to lose weight as fast as i could. i never lost weight as i obviously gained muscle as it was proof on my calves.0
