So i am mad at applebees cause I cant find any nutritional info on the grilled shrimp and island rice. It really isn't that big a deal (I didnt even eat the rice and i figure that along with the 500 cals its like 10g prot etc) but its the principle. Every place should be legally obligated to post nutrional facts.
Lol, maybe I have to much time on my hands today.

I know how you feel, KoG. I was really upset when I found out that the Crispy Orange Chicken Bowl has over 1800 calories! And I couldn't even get that from the company. I had to visit several health sites to find the information. Applebee's actually takes the stance that they won't supply nutritional information unless it is required by law. That just makes me suspicious, you know? :S
If I have to eat there, I'll be going with one of their 550 & Under low calorie choices...but I won't be happy about it. I'm a fan of full disclosure. It didn't sit well with me either. Like you said, it's the principle...0 -
I agree--more restaurants should make their nutrition facts public!
In the meantime--i did find this--its an estimate, though!

It just makes sense to be upfront and honest.0 -
Getting that information is a process that, apparently, costs the business tens of thousands of dollars. At least that was the reply from a small restaurant chain I received couple years ago.0

The state of Iowa doesn't require any restaurant to have it. Needless to say, I haven't been out but twice and they were to national chains just so I could get the information.0

It is actually in the works.
Health Care Bill Mandates That Restaurants Display Nutrition Information on Menus

It's a new law in Philadelphia that all restaurants, including fast food must post the number of calories in each item. I believe next year they will be required to show not only the calories, but also the carb/fat/protein of each. I also heard New Jersey will be getting a similar law next year and I cannot wait, since that is where I live0

Be careful with Applebees items. I read that the 550 calories & Under menu items only include the entree and not side items listed with the meal. Does anyone else know if this is true?0

Wow!!! Here in Quebec, we don't have this service except if you go at Subways where they serve 6 grammes submarines. I did notice that the amount of calaries was indicated on the menu when I was at Applebbe's a few years ago and I really did appreciate it. I would love a full display like this here in Quebec. You are lucky!!0

Alot of restaurants ar elike that. They dont want to tell you how fattening something is because then you won't buy it.0
