Starting over

My name is Jessica. I've been a member of myfitnesspal for quite some time, and I was doing great, even without logging in. I met my goal of running a 5k and lost almost 20 lbs. I was at 146. I unfortunatel got burnt out after that 5k and gained back what I lost, including my good mood and positive outlook.

I feel like I need to start over the right way, and continue to stay on that path with some encouragement. It's a lot harder when you don't have people giving that little extra push. I'm moving in with my boyfriend in a couple weeks and I'll be spending a lot of time alone since he works second shift. I figure by that point I could be more active at the gym where I hold a membership. It's time to get healthy. I may not be completely overweight or morbidly obese, but I'm uncomfortable, and that's not okay with me. My current weight is abut 154 or 155, and my goal is 130. Sounds simple enough, and its not a TON of weight to lose. Why is it so hard though??

I'm hoping to make a number of friends here, to kind of help me and give me some guidance on how to GET motivated and STAY motivated.

Same here! I lost 30 pounds, went on a vacation, and just lost the motivation to work out. I stopped for around three months. Now I'm gradually pumping myself up, and hopefully this one's for good.

But you're not alone! Five years ago I lost 40 pounds, got burned out, and regained everything back while packing a few more. From 212, I went to around 170, then I was at my biggest at 245. Now I'm back to 210-ish.

I regret not visiting MyFitnessPal for quite some time. People here know darn well how to keep everyone motivated. I just visit the success stories and keep inspired by the drastic changes other people have made. Hopefully we can be there as well.

I did the same only never actually succeeded in losing after initially joining MFP. I got serious in May, COMPLETELY changed my life and everyone around me notices it in both weight loss and my attitude.

My best advice is stick with it! I have a LOT of support at home as far as helping me eat right but working out is my own gig 98% of the time and it can get REALLY lonely when you're getting up to do it at the crack-*kitten* of dawn to work out. I have found there are a LOT of people on here that do the same. I also have become familiar with the people at my gym and get some encouragement from some of them as well.

KEEP LOGGING IN!! Everyday, say hi, log your exercise and food (hello kettle, I'm the pot - I have to be better about logging food), if you have a smart phone download the app which now has reminders to set to remind you to log food and exercise.

NO EXCUSES! This is all for YOU and you are the only one that can make your dreams come true!

And incidentally, 20lbs or 200lbs... to lose weight is HARD for all of us.
