How do you work it in your diet plan and what are some great suggestions?
I am new and loving the android app and website. Really loving to track the food and really seeing what you are eating. I know since I'm breastfeeding I can't really diet, and taking in the right calories. I'm not a junk food junkie and not expecting to lose what I gained in my 9 mo. of pregnancy over night. ;) I just had my second child and want to stay positive! Anyone out there in my shoes??

  • I'm not breastfeeding anymore, but I think you can still just figure out how many calories you need and stick to that. You are in an envious position, IMO. You can burn up to 500 calories a day just from nursing! I would try to throw in some exercise and just make sure you're staying a in a good caloric range. Also, Kellymom has some good info on dieting and breastfeeding.

    Good luck!
  • I am nursing. I just had my baby girl on October first. I am in a dilemma with this because if I log into my food journal it will look like I am over eating everyday. MFP gave me 1200 calories so I know I have to add 500 to that to maintain my milk. If I exercise I suppose I will have to add more calories too because I am not willing to compromise my milk supply to lose weight. Good luck to you. I know how frustrating it can be to finally not be pregnant, but also not be able to jump right into a diet because of nursing. I am done having kids so now it is time to get my body back that I lost in the process of bringing 4 beautiful children into the world. I am giving myself 18 months to get back to my weight before I had any kids.

Search "Breastfeeding" in the food database. People have created foods that put a negative calorie amount into your diary to accommodate for the extra calories you need.
