I painted a bedroom and hallway today. Should I log it as workout points? If so, how do I figure it out?? :)

I don't think it would be enough calories to be worth logging.

Yeah I never broke a sweat or was out of breath when i painted my whole apartment. I wouldn't even log it

I painted my deck and it sure FELT like a workout (I was brand new at any sort of exercise at that point) so I looked around. I forget where I found it, but 180 minutes came out to 709.

    709 calories!

You burn calories all day long doing nothing. They still don't count towards exercise calories

I would claim it if I were you. I just looked up the calorie counter book to see what they say for calories burned and it said.
    3 cals/ min for 60kg person
    4 cals/ min for 80kg
    5 cals/ min fort 100kg
These amounts are for light exercise which includes things like walking slow, light gardening, housework etc. so yes you were burning calories.
Add and extra 2 cals per minute it you did it at a moderate pace.
Hope this helps with your decision. Good luck and keep on going.

I don't think you burned a significant enough for just painting that you would log it. Your normal calories take into account your daily activities which is what I would consider that..
  • Thanks everyone,

I'm not going to log it. I ran this morning and that should be enough. I am going to be sore! Twisting, turning and upper body workout painting. All bonus!
