Pre workout snacks?

What are some good ideas for a Pre workout snack? I feel like I need something before I workout in the evening, I sometimes get light headed during my exercise. I want something with protein, but not too heavy because I don't want to feel sick to my stomach.
Thanks for any ideas.

I usually eat a banana or have a protein shake.

I will eat a stick of colby jack cheese, greek yogurt, bananas, apples, or a small protein shake/bar. I found things like granola bars and crackers make me feel like they want to come back and visit during my workout lol. It helps get me through. Hope that helps!

I drink 1/4 of my protein shake on my way to the gym and the rest afterward. Back when I did more cardio I just had a low-fat 80-calorie yogurt, but the protein definitely is an improvement!

If you are lifting weights, protein. For cardio just get a piece of fruit. for longer cardio sessions I will sometimes use brown rice to give me more fuel. It burns longer and slower than other carbs.

I plan to do my workouts about an hour after supper, then save room for an apple dipped in peanut butter for a snack after.

Dried fruit, give me energy and doesn't make me nauseus most of the time. I really need to work out on a near empty stomach.

As I think about it more, I guess I divide my dinner up into two lighter meals - one before and one after workout. I like them them to be zone like - that seems to be the best combo for me (maybe with a ltitle more fat than pure zone). I usually do a protein shake, smoothie, an oz of cheese and an apple, some greek yogurt with fruit, or some cottage cheese and fruit around 3:30 or 4pm - no later than 5pm or it won't sit right during the workout. I start working out around 6:30-7pm. Then, if I'm hungry, I'll have something similar after the workout - like cheese and wine. I don't eat a big dinner after working out because I don't like eating late.

I feel like I'm the only person who never has a "pre" or "post" workout anything. I workout when I workout..and eat my meals or snacks when I normally do. Anyone else??

Right now I'm having 2 pieces of string cheese and a small protein and coconut oil mixed in coffee. Preworkout that satisfies the hunger and boosts my energy a little bit.
