Recipes needed.

I need some low fat, low sodium oriental sauces for my dishes.

I've been using:

low sugar mandarin jam, low sodium soy sauce, chili sauce, and grated ginger.

Getting bored.

Thanks.

You can get creative with those things. If you add citrus to your soy sauce it becomes Ponzo. This is still soy sauce but with a whole new flavor profile.

ponzo has a lot less sodium... and its yummy

**I love the orange sauce for this and switch it for lemon too yummmy sometimes i just make the sauce*

This is sooo easy and satisfies my chinese craving...I use chicken beef or pork and add 1-2 cups of cooked frozen veggies close to the end

Here is the video of where it came from

    Orange Chicken

1 Chicken breast (cut up into cubes)
    3/4 of an egg white
    1 tsp of cornstarch
1tbsp olive oil (to fry chicken)

cut up chicken and put in bowl add egg white and cornstarch..then fry in oil until browned (remove from heat and set aside)

    Sauce

1/2 cup Chicken broth (low sodium)
*1 tbsp of Soya Sauce (low sodium) I now leave this out or use ponzo sauce too much sodium in soya for me
    1/4 C Vinegar
    1/4 tsp Chilie flakes
    1/4C Brown Sugar ( I use 3 splenda instead)
1/2 orange juice squeezed and a bit of zest (or I use orange extract )
Cornstarch slurry (water with a lil cornstarch) when sauce is almost done put this in

Put all ingredients in fry pan and let cook down a bit then add chicken and when almost done add the cornstarch and water

This only takes a few moments and it is sooooooooooooooo good

This really isn't me trying to be a smart @ss.
Go to the asian food section. Pick up various bottles and look to see if they have any recipe ideas on them

I like hoison sauce, not sure if they have a low-sodium brand, though.

Tamari sauce is a lot like soy, but a noticable difference.

Sometimes just looking at the variety in front of you can inspire you.

curry is also pretty good with different stuff. sadly, fish sauce is super salty.

rice wine vinegar is really good on a cuke salad.
