So, the battery on my scale is low. I thought about going and buying one but I thought to myself "maybe this is a good thing".
I am back after falling off the wagon..This past summer I almost reached my goal then trailed off. When I was losing, I was stepping on that scale everyday, hearbroken if it didn't move or went up an ounce. A true slave to the numbers. I found myself getting obsessed, even venturing into the pro ana forums. NOT GOOD! I am not trying to be uber skinny and im def not trying to kill myself to get "skinny". I just want to be healthy and fit into my clothes better, maybe go down a size. So I bought myself a tape measure. I figure if i measure myself weekly it will be more motivation than those big red numbers staring at me. I am more than a number. I will eventually weigh, maybe when i take my kids to the doctor later this month, but for now i don't care!

The measuring tape is going to be your best friend!!!!
  • You just made feel like I should go and get a non-digital scale so that I can trust the number. I had a HRM that I had to replace the battery on and now I feel like I can't trust it because my calorie burn is way less than it was before. Was it wrong as the battery was dying-or is it wrong now? AGH!!!!

If it helps you ,,, then roll with it. but as a friend (you never met) I gotta say that tape measuring OR weighing every day is not helpful. you gotta find your way past that need/craving. You do not need a gold star every day to prove you are on the right path.
    stay positive.

I thought about getting a classic scale. Maybe when i am in maintenance mode. I have been pondering a hrm also.

Thank You, I def have trouble with seeing the big picture. I know if i have a bad day then it's not going to undo everything i do.

Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. – Thomas Edison

Falling off the wagon is not the end and not losing does not mean you are not successful. You've seemed to have picked yourself up with a great attitude.

The scale should only be a guideline (this coming from a scale *kitten*. LOL) - Meauring tape is great! Also achievements w/in your excercises (run longer/faster, lift more/heavier, etc)

    Keep up the great work!!
