Been doing really well and got my weight down to 15:03 on friday morning.
I had a bad weekend and completely blew out on food and wine.....however i was shocked when i stood on the scales this morning and it said 15:11!!!!!
HOW is it possible to gain 8 lbs in a weekend....is there any chance that this will disappear just as easily?????
I feel hard done by. I know i binged but really????? Doesn't seem fair!

You are probably retaining water....dont panic. Your body will even things out.0

Ditto: You probably ate a lot more carbs and sodium, which caused you to retain water. You should lose all of it within 3 or 4 days.0

My thoughts are that it's either water or waste...maybe both.0
-
water and waste - i will go with that answer in the hope that it miraculously drops off!0
-
Yes, definitely water retention...0

Defo water weight. Don't panic, or be angry! Were all aloud a blow out! Otherwise life would be boring & we wouldn't stick to it in the long run! Just accept it for what it is & get back to the healthy side!0

You'll be fine! I had a binge week a few weeks ago so the scale showed a gain last week. I got back on this week after a better week and the gain plus some more was gone. Best wishes to you.0

Yep, I ate a bunch of salty junk yesterday, and I could feel the water in my fingers this morning. I knew I was going to show a little higher on the scale. Sure enough, I added two pounds from yesterday morning. By tomorrow it will be gone. Stay focused, look at trends, not spikes.0

No you can't have done th0

Unless you ate 280,000 calories MORE than you burned then no you didn't gain 8 pounds Water weight, bloating, just extra food in your system...will do that.0

I also had a terrible weekend. I gained 4lbs!!! Maybe it has to do with the alcohol? Anyway lets just brush it off and keep going?!0

never weigh after a binge even tho your dying to assess the damage. assume you need to do damage control anyway diet and exercise the rest of the week and weigh in friday morning.
my biggest problem in weight loss and always has been the weekend binge. i am trying to learn to do better each time. the biggest problem is really it rolls into the week. and i cant stop0 -
Dude, Seriously you are literally full of **** and water, slam the water for the next few days and it will all even itself out. Put it this way, to gain 8 lbs you would have had to eat 28,000 EXTRA calories on top of a 2,000 cal diet. I seriously doubt that was the case unless you have a hollow leg.0

Chug some water and take a poop.0

I gained 4.5 this weekend. I do think I've gained *some* actual weight, but not 4.5 lbs. worth. I'm hoping at most it was 1.5 lbs. But whatever the scale says on Wednesday is what I'll record. Hopefully I'll just have a giant loss the next week.0

I agree...water and carb bloat...it takes eating 3500 extra to gain 1 pound..0
-
all good.......look forward to the mother of all poos :-)0

Ugh . . . me as well . . . gained 4 lbs in a 3 night/2 day vacation. I drank alot -- winetasting in the day and watching the Giants at a sports bar at the end of the day). Didn't eat any differently than I usually do, but absolutely no exercise during our trip. Hopefully will lose as quick as I gained. Anyone experience anything similar and if so, did it drop off once you got back to your normal activities/diet?0

A one day binge/weight gain is a pause really, all you have done is gone up to the weight you would be if you stopped eating at a deficit, plus some water, it soon goes.0
-
You might have gained one actual pound. Most, if not all of it, will come back off this week.0

Chug some water and take a poop.

Like others have said, you're probably retaining a lot of water. I once gained 6 lbs in a single day after I had a binge! It made me feel like I'd completely ruined everything and I felt like giving up, but over the next few days I lost most of that weight. Just go back to eating like you were and exercise and it'll come off in no time.0
