35-40 grams0

I am for 30 but I get anywhere from 25-45 grams.0
-
I like to get a minimum of 30g0
-
I like 30 as a minimum too. Sometimes get up to 50!x0
-
For those who eat over 40g in a day, does it cause any issues? I was just reading about how a very high fiber diet can cause blockages in your intestines which happens to be a big fear of mine.0

I haven't heard of that but I'd assume it would be caused by using fibre supplements. Anyhow you have to have lots of water when you eat plenty of fibre to help it pass through you easily.0 -

Thanks. I love my fiber, but I know sometimes too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. Just trying to be cautious!0 -

I've read this as well, but it also said that you'd have to eat upwards of 100g of fibre without taking in any water.. musta been a different article.0 -

It's not bad for you, but you do need to build a fiber "tolerance" if you don't want to have "digestive issues". Just add a bit of fiber every day..0 -

It only causes issues if rapidly increase your fiber intake or if you are not drinking enough water. If you are getting your fiber from whole foods and not supplements, getting >40g should be ok. A good rule is to never over do it on one particular nutrient, balance and moderation are a part of a healthy diet0 -
I eat somewhere in the area of 45 a day. No issues here0
-
A lot lower than the other people on here, but whatever: around 20 g.0

What basic food do you eat high in fiber? I need to add more to my diet. Thanks!0

I'm on thyroid medication and too much fiber interacts with the medication's absorption. Too much can also inhibit the absorption of some vitamins, too. What basic food do you eat high in fiber? I need to add more to my diet. Thanks!0 -

My diary is open if you want to check it out and take a look at others too to get some ideas.0 -

*this* I started at 25g/day and am working gradually up to 50g/day. I increase by no more than 2-5g/day/week to allow my system to acclimate. I'm at 35-40 and that's been working for me.0 -
25 for me!0

at least 45 usually somewhere around 55... sometimes even 65 ahh it's hard to eat that much though.0

all fruits and vegetables.
high fiber foods: pears, raspberries, grapefruit, celery, chia seeds, flax seeds, bananas, apples, pumpkin, baby corn, leafy greens...0 -
35-40 without trying.
I rarely drink water but I haven't really had any major issues.
I do it because I hear it makes up for carbs0 -
I average 50-60 grams.0

Have fun in the bathroom... bring a book lol.0 -
25 to 35 for me0

I take husk for fiber and 2 glasses of water right after. The fiber is similar to a spnoge where it expands when it is saturated which is why you need water. I never had a problem so I think you will be fine as long as you drink water.0

I average 50-60 ish. I don't take fiber supplements though, it's from fruits, veggies, beans, split peas, etc.0
