I need more calories!

I need to eat more calories because I am always around 400 under my goal. I am 19 and my daily goal is 1200. Until I started using MFP I didn't realize that my "eating healthy" only means 800 calories! My body must be starving itself. I eat constantly all day. Alot of fruit, vegies, almonds ect. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas about what else i could be eating that is not only really healthy but has more calories. Maybe specific fruits or vegies? Thanks

What would work really well is a protein shake with a banana, berries, and a scoop of protein powder and using milk (if you drink milk) as the liquid for extra protein and calories. Would probably be around 300-400 calories depending on all that you put in there, but you can also add a scoop of peanut butter to get more calories and protein. I also add spinach to my smoothies to get some extra greens!0

1200 is too low. Are you taking in enough protein and fats? Vegetables and fruits are minimal in net caloric intake and don't provide necessary macronutrients to sustain life.0

How much do you weigh and what is your goal weight? The 1200 net strategy is typically only pursued by those who are trying to lose 2 lbs per week and have 70+ lbs of fat to lose.0

Sunbutter. Yum.0 -
Try beans, seeds, and nuts. Avocado has a lot of calories in it too. You can use it as a sandwich spread and it's pretty yummy. Hummus is good too, you can dip all those veggies you like to munch on in it.0

Avocados, whole eggs, lean meat, fish and whole fat dairy products are just a few.0

Protein shakes. I am having the same problem when I started using this. It showed me I wasn't eating enough. By me not eating enough you lose weight slower and it's harder.0

When I'm a little low for the day I sneak in a glass of chocolate milk. Yum0

I just got jillian michael's chocolate protein powder. You can blend it with milk and a banana and it will total like 300 calories.0

While I agree for most people, she might be 4'10, and 1,200 is adequate for healthy weight loss. Don't be so quick to jump to this.0
