In the spirit of tonights Walking Dead premiere, i was wondering if anyone has ever bought something for the sole purpose of being prepared for the zombie apocalypse??
personally, i'm preparing a go bag for emergency's, but today i'm tempted to buy this: http://www.theclymb.com/brand-event/86923/show-product/135610?f=mi basically just to bash Z heads. (also because of Assassin's Creed 3)

All I have is a pretty powerful stun gun. Years ago my friend had one and I tried it on myself. Did it on my leg and it took me down to the ground. When we bought the one I have now I asked the salesman if the one I got was too powerful to try on myself just to know what it will feel like and he said, "DO NOT use it on yourself. You will mess your pants." Tee hee.0

Oh i might get that axe too, for close in combat (sorry already have my own clymb acct lol)
I have several guns, but I admit I bought the shotgun specifically for Z's.0 -
When we bought our house, I thought to myself, "this is a good zombie-proof house." We have solid concrete walls, hurricane glass that is impact resistant to debris flying at 160mph, and our back yard has a privacy fence and gate. Plus, we have huge fruit trees in the yard that produce fruit year round and a big farm behind us. Food, shelter, and indestructible abode all in one.
We also have a generator, but it needs repair. I should get on that before the apocalypse hits.0 -

You are lucky! The zombies are just going to knock in my 1958 doors and windows...we will surely need weapons.0 -
I haven't bought anything *specifically* for it. I do have plenty of guns, ammo, a bow and arrows. And I envision zombies chasing me when I'm doing push-ups.
I already live on a farm too - I feel pretty good about being self sufficient if **** hits the fan!
The one thing I DO want to buy is non-hybrid seeds for my garden, so I can keep re-using them.0 -

Only if you bring supplies!0 -
Something? How about i have a whole bag with supplies and food, enough for me and my daughter to survive if need be, in the woods. In the process of buying 2 guns as well. Of course this isn't just for a "zombie apocalypse" but more for when the s**t hits the fan. Always be prepared0

I have knocked out the staircase in my stairwell in order to halt any zombies reaching the floor I live.0

Since most people I know can't stand up to a spider, I don't fancy their chances against a zombie.0

I feel that the best way to prepare is to make sure you know how to turn everyday household objects into weapons. Heavy books? Great for close range bludgeoning. Clotheslines? Great for tripping those that are undead and shuffly. Shovels? Great for blunt force trauma to the upper body and for severing the heads. Trashcans? Well, you gotta entertain yourself some how, so Zombie Head Street Hockey. WD-40 and a lighter? Poor mans flamethrower.
The possibilities are endless.
Also, maybe check the CDC's website, they have a Zombie Apocalypse preparedness brochure.0 -
Dumbbells and running shoes.0

Haha! I haven't, but zombies are the ****! I'm so pumped for the premiere0

I have a bug out bag in a closet near the door. Grab the gun/ammo and I am confident I am set. The preschooler poses a bit of a problem but he's in training now so I hope the apocalypse can wait until he is at least five years old. We are going to make an awesome team.0

It's because they're too big. I had to resize the Zombie Max pic I just posted. It fits now.0 -
By far this is my favorite ever message board! I just been working on myself... You know rule number one Cardio cause the fatties go first! I do have a generator and some solar panels for electricity and some books on wild plants you can eat and how to prepare them0
