3 pounds in 3 months

at my doctor's appointment today, i was officially down another pound. whoo to the hoo!!! 3 pounds in 3 months may look like i am doing something wrong to some people, but my doctor and i are so happy! (my bmr is 1303 and she wants me eating 1288 calories a day.) it has taken over a year for me to get to a point where i can lose anything. and the weight loss was including the holidays, and my occassional (sometimes frequent) over-eating. if i keep this pace up, i can lose 12 pounds total this year. do you know how exciting that is for me?!? yay me!

thanks nikki! this is the first time i have felt that i 'might' be able to actually lose weight. i have felt like no matter what i do or how much i work out, it was just stuck there. i am encouraged! forward motion!

Yes, thank you!! I thought maybe I was doing something totally wrong but it's nice to know I'm not alone!!0

you are not alone lizzie! i know what that feels like! it is no fun. just keep doing what you are doing. you will find most people on mfp very supportive. i went thru menopause when i was 27 and my body stopped working the way it was supposed to. all the food i was eating became fat and i was malnourished even while eating 'healthy'. several exploratory surgeries later and "nothing can be done". it was horrible. last year in may, i finally went to a doctor who thinks she can reverse what my body decided to do. i now have a diagnois of pcos and have finally found a dose of medication that will prompt my body into digesting and using my food. that helps. lol. the results may be slow, but they will come.

Congratulations! And kudos to you for persevering in finding a doctor that listens and does not simply give up and say there is nothing that can be done. Finding the right support is often exactly what is needed.0

I think thats a wonderful thing!! ANY loss is great none are too small!! Congrats to you!!
Look at it this week, it's a steady 1/4 lb a week!!
I too have PCOS and was diagnosed when I was 29, and I too hold onto weight like nobodies buss! But I am interested in what your dr's say about your body turning the food you eat into fat. I have never heard that before!!
Its such a frustrating disease. And many on here have it.
\Keep up the good work, and good luck to us PCOS'ers!0 -
You are amazing!!! Great job girl, keep up the great work! :bigsmile:0
