I found out about MFP in February 2012. As usual, I kept telling myself, "I will start tomorrow", and really began on March 12, 2012. It took me 10 days until I was logging everything in faithfully and there has been no turning back. This morning my weigh in put me at just over 100 pounds lost. :embarassed: I am about 17 pounds away from being just overweight.
I don't know if there are others like this, but, I have no pictures. I am too embarassed and ashamed of what I let happen to myself, becoming morbidly obese, and did not want the pictures to remind me. I avoided mirrors as well as cameras, and still do.
I believed the myths. Women have a difficult time losing weight over 40 was the main one.
Well, I am proof that it can be done. I turned 61 on September 30th. I will not go back to what I was. I still have quite a way to go, but I will get there.
For all of those struggling, you can do this too! Best of luck to everyone, and thanks for all the inspiration to help get me to where I am today! I am so grateful to MFP!
