Easy Fruit Smoothie

Makes 1 serving

You will need: 1 cup frozen fruit (I use great value frozen mixed fruit with strawberries, mangoes, peaches, and pineapple)
1/2 cup plain yogurt (You could also use 1/2 cup milk instead of yogurt
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour in a cup and enjoy!

It has 120 calories if made with plain yogurt and 131 calories if made with milk.

I just tried a new smoothie this morning, 1 cup fat free french vanilla greek yogurt, 1 cup frozen berry mix, and 1/2 cup 1% milk. The milk makes it drinkable and the frozen fruit keeps it cold longer. Not as low on the calories as the other recipe but if that is all I have for breakfast it gets me going for the day.

I tend to do mine with very low fat plain yoghurt or I do it with a low fat fruit yoghurt.

Awesome recipe! My variation (for those interested in a high-protein diet) uses two scoops of vanilla-flavored whey protein powder instead of the vanilla extract. I also use Greek yogurt, which is slightly higher in protein. I use a bit less yogurt and I add some water, to offset the thickening effect of the protein powder. This variation gives 383 calories, 35 grams carbs, and 56 grams protein.

That Great Value frozen fruit medley is awesome. Two bags last an entire month. I love that I get a different amount of each fruit in every smoothie, giving me a slightly different flavor every time. Some days, it's more strawberry, and others, it's more mango and pineapple. Because of that, I've had this smoothie almost every morning for nearly two years, and I haven't gotten sick of it yet.
