What do you guys do on hungry days

Ever have those days where you are hungry ALL day? I'm eating healthy things and I worked out, hit the bike.
I think it might be because I have been gradually reaching a marginally lower weight average range and my body is adjusting to the change...
I probably had double what I usually have for breakfast this morning. Maybe I need to hit more protein, been drinking water..
What do folks here do when you have hungry days - try to eat many small meals? I generally believe in eating and don't like to be hungry... Curious what snacks people like.

I snack a lot on hungry days, but I make sure it is healthy stuff like fruits and veggies. And workout a little extra0

I'll eat a lot of veggies with a little fat.0
-
I'll eat a little more fat because it's satiating. :bigsmile:0
-
I drink extra water, it usually stops my cravings for food0
-
I eat enough each and every day so im not hungry. Solves the problem of hungry days.0

When I'm at a deficit I try to minimize snacking specifically so that I can have very large meals. I skip breakfast, and then eat a massive meal post workout and then another buttload of food at night, then I snack until bedtime or until I'm out of calories.
For example, today for lunch I had rice, green beans, and a full lb of tilapia. That's a pretty good sized portion of food.
Totals were:
825kcal 79cho 14fat 116pro
For the day I'm at (whey protein + milk in my morning coffee):
1,064kcal 99cho 16fat 152pro
And thankfully, I've still got a good 1300-1400 calories to eat and I'm not hungry right now because I just ate a freakin' pound of fish.
So, tonight I'll eat a large dinner with about 30g pro and a bunch of carbs, and I'll have about 500 discretionary calories to work with at bedtime for some ice cream or popcorn or w/e treat I want.0 -
I check myself first. If I am truly hungry, than I eat. It's simple.0

Well if I am still hungry after eating I will drink some water. If after 30mins I am still hungry and my stomach is being stubborn then I will eat something else...like some veggies or crackers w/ cheese.0

Suffer.
Sometimes I eat a meal filled with protein, vegetables and a small amount of carbohydrates...and 20 minutes later my stomach is literally growling from hunger pangs.
I just have to wait it out till the next day or drink copious amounts of coffee(though sometimes that is not at all practical).0 -
I feel virtuous - then eat some celery (and wonder what the exercise quotient is for flossing?) - drink water and green tea0

I would've posted the exact same thing, so I just copied yours.0 -
If I am really hungry, I eat. I try to eat something that is filling, like yogurt with fruit or a salad. Something that takes a while to eat. If I am still hungry after that, I have a giant cup of Vanilla chai tea. If that doesn't take care of it, I eat more, and if necessary, exercise more to earn some more calories. Sometimes I just go over. I am not in a huge hurry to lose more weight. I am just trying to take care of my body.0

If I'm feeling hungrier than usual, I first try to figure out WHY...am I working out more? Am I eating enough? Am I balancing my macros? Am I eating whole foods? Am I due my time-of-month (lol)? Am I emotionally hungry or physically hungry?
If I am eating right and am genuinely hungry, or I really need an emotional release, I just simply eat more that day. But because I eat so much whole foods and I eat all day at a 20% cut from my TDEE I find that I never really feel physically hungry.
More protein, more wholegrains, more fruit & veg...it ALWAYS sorts out the *physical* hunger. Emotional hunger is a little harder to deal with, because with the wrong food at hand its very easy to eat and eat and eat.
This is why I ALWAYS have a cheat day, and it has never stopped me from losing weight. I'm so close to goal, eat a lot & don't kill myself at the gym, and I STILL lost 1.6lbs last week! x0 -
I've taken to sipping herbal tea, something with some zip, like Raspberry Zinger or Cranberry Apple. The flavour keeps my hunger pangs at bay.0

i know this feeling! i just keep snacking, hopefully on healthier things like fruit or veggies or miso soup or green tea. I find if I don't take care of waht my body is saying it wants, i will only feel crappier as the day goes on.0

Not to sound like a smart *kitten*, but EAT!
You are on the right path with protein, water, and veggies. Just eat!0 -
Thanks Guys! Good to know what other folks out there are doing.0

I just keep eating and do better the next day0

I don't always do the same thing on hungry days, but most often I munch all day long without ever really having a "meal". I keep it pretty healthy - hummus and apple slices, peanut butter and veggie sticks, nuts, guacamole or salsa and corn chips, low sugar granola bars, cottage cheese with tomatoes or fruit and a leafy green, whatever other munchie I have in the house.
But sometimes I also eat very little all day so I can have one massive meal in the evening with wine. Looking forward to the pig out gets me through the day because sometimes I really like to stuff myself. Not a binge because it's not out of control or unplanned. Just a really big meal.0 -
Today is a hungry day for me. What did I do? I changed my goals from losing 1 pound a week to losing 1/2 pound a week. More calories0
-
First I drink some water. Then if I am truly still hungry, I eat. I just accept the fact that I am going to go over that day. my hungry days are tiedto my cycles, so I only get about one hungry day per month. I just roll with it and I'm fine.0

What's helped me most on long days where I get hungry often is Shakeology! I drink it once a day, and WATER!!! If you get your correct percentage of water in, you'll be less hungry throughout the day!0

I eat. Then i run or ride. Then i eat some more.0

Generally its me vs steak... and the steak has only won once.... damn 15oz'ers.0

If I met my calorie requirements for the day and I'm still hungry, I chew a lot of gum and try to focus on other things. As for foods that fill me up without a lot of calories, I like Greek yougart, chicken noodle soup or other soups that do not have a cream base, and sugar free hot chocolate to sooth my sweet tooth!0
-
Perfect - me too0

I have a lot of those unfortunately, even if I hit my calorie max. Something that has been working for me is some green tea with peppermint. I sweeten it a little with some stevia. Usually a cup or two of that and I am ok for a while.0
