I am generally a happy person, but just lately I wake up and feel really ticked off and down!

I don`t know why because I have a good life (in my eyes)

Does anyone else feel really down when they wake up/get up in the morning????

As the day goes on I feel great as it gets later...but if you have this sort of depression how do you get out of it???

I am the same way.. often I'd rather just stay in bed. But I think to myself... think how good you'll feel after you've done your morning workout and had a nice hot shower...

Depression is often worst first thing in the morning. If it just started this fall, you may benefit from some photo therapy. Lights. Full spectrum bulbs in all your lamps and turn them on! The more intense the light the better. Also spend as much time as you can outside during the day, without sunglasses. Exercise is also extra effective with seasonal depression.

Oh my days the hot shower is the only thing that tempts me out of the bed! I think when I have had a nice hot shower I will feel better and it does help, then me and dog go for a very long walk, I plug in the ipod and listen to some music, but still I feel down...it so bugs me because I have no reason to feel down, other than the usual stuff that worries affects everyone....

Yep I was wondering if it was something to do with the sunlight??? and S.A.D. but I have never had it before, can it just come on from nowhere???

I am not into taking medication, don`t even like to take medication for a headache, so really don`t want to take prescription drugs.

SAD can crop up randomly, or come and go different years. My uncle and grandmother ar eboth affected by it and they find what helps them best is to stay outdoors as much as possible when it's light out, to have well lit areas when it's not, and they usually sleep with a noise machine, something soothing.
