one for the ladies

Does being on your period really make a difference to weight loss or is it just a myth??

Ive been really good this week so far but the scales arent agreeing with me. Its that dreaded time so should i not panic or is that a myth just to make women feel better about gaining weight on occasion

It varies for everyone. I know I feel famished the week before and am oblivious to the fact that I'm about to start my period. Then I think....ok this is why I feel like eating everything in sight, it's almost that TOM. I actually lose a lot when I'm on my period because I'm learning to control my eating. I don't think it's an "excuse" but it is a reason why women overeat and then see the scale go up.

Sometimes we bloat, sometimes not. Most of the time, I gain a little for a day or three, but then it disappears.

Hormones can make you retain fluid so it's quite normal to see the scale not move or (in my case) go up.

Next week will look nicer for you!
  • Thanks everyone. Great advice

    Everyone is different.
I tend to bloat and hold water although I really don't et any different.
Water weight seems to go when I actually get my blob...I hold water leading up to it.

I have no idea but OMG I have the worst cravings before & on my period! I hate it. But as long as you exercise & maintain a healthy diet, you should be fine.
