Water (enough to cover all ingredients)

Chop all veg and put everything in pan, cover with water bring to boil and simmer until veg are soft.

Can be left chunky or blended

ok this is my recipe for Lentil and bacon soup

    3 large leeks
    2 large sweet potatoes
    6 large potatoes
    10 carrots
    1 sweed
    1 onion
    200g red lentils
2 chicken or veg stock pots
1/2 pack tesco cooking bacon all fat removed

peel potatoes and sweed and chop all veg into medium size chunks
add all chopped veg to a big pot and just cover with water.
Add the lentils and stock pots then cook for 30-40 mins. It will start to thicken from the lentils then add the bacon and cook for a further 5 mins.
    now enjoy

    Mushy pea curry

    1 tin Mushy Peas

    1 tin Chopped Tomatoes

    1 tin baked beans

    1 tin chick pea dahl

    1 Onion

    1. Sweat onions till soft

    2. add all ingredient together and warm through

You can't beat a good stew in the winter. I make mine with heaps of veggies (no potato) and lean meat. I put a can of chopped tomatoes in there, a couple of bay leaves, some beef stock, some seasoning and normally a pinch of cayenne pepper as I like a bit of spice. Add water - you don't need a lot as the food 'shrinks' while it cooks and it will end up watery. Leave it in the slow cooker (or crock pot for you americans) all day and when I come home from work it's done. I sometimes thicken it up with a few gravy granules. Makes a low calorie but super hearty and filling dinner!

This is one of my faves, although I vary it quite a bit, by using beans instead of potatoes and adding extra green leafy veg (kale or spinach) for the last 10 mins.
