My first (hopefully of many!) NSV

So today instead of going back to bed for 3 hours after dropping my daughter off at school, I headed to the gym. I walked over 3 miles in just under an hour! I totally wanted to quit after about 20 minutes, but I just kept telling myself to go another 10 minutes, another few songs, then see if you want to quit. I plugged away and didn't quit. I got a little choked up because I was so proud of myself. It may not seem like much, but for me it was a huge first step.

Absolutely. Any step you take is helping you get there. And especially if you're meeting goals like this one that you just didn't know you could do. Great job!

  • When I first started getting healthy about 20 years ago one of my goals was to walk around the block ONCE every day. Now I hike, play floor hockey, run for an hour and a half, play soccer, etc etc. It'll happen for you. Just keep getting fitter and stronger and healthier and never give up. You will have days when you're disappointed in yourself. But, they're just days. Keep it up and years from now you won't believe how far you've come. :O)

  • Yes!!! Celebrate every little victory. Feel GOOD about what you did. Focus on how GREAT you feel - that can be your motivation to do it again.

Congrats! I know just what you mean about getting emotional. I finally figured out how to get some aerobic exercise with a back injury. I cried after the first time I got a good work-out. (Happy tears)
