Fat to fit radio- anyone?

I saw a post on here about working out your daily calorie needs to lose weight based on body ft etc.. has anyone else tried this and sucessfully lost weight? It is coming out that i should be eating around 1600 a day and at present im on 1200.

Eat your TDEE. I know it sucks because in our logical minds if you eat less then you will lose more right? No, it doesn't exactly work that way because your body has a certain level of upkeep that you need to maintain or else your body will eat itself to get the nutrients it needs.
If you did the fat2fitradio.com thing and it doesn't make sense, use http://www.calorieline.com/tools/tdee to figure it out instead. After the activity levels it gives you a description of what a TDEE is and why it's important to eat at least your REE.
I started at a 1200 calorie diet and felt like crap. Now I eat 1700 and I feel great (and I'm losing fat instead of muscle because of my increased protein).0
