Angry eating!

I got SO upset - I've simmered down a bit, but - after a bit of TV, I looked at my bills. Ugh, money issues. Too mundane to bother you with minutiae.. Long story short, I came downstairs and into the kitchen, grabbed the biggest knife out of the kitchen block and -
ATTACK!!
I hacked a poor defenseless pineapple to pieces!
I had to eat something, and get out the negative feelings also. It was the only thing I could do.
I feel better now. A little.

At least it was a pineapple and not a rack of ribs or a pound of bologna or a block of cheese.
See it could have been worse! :happy:0 -
Mmmmm.....pineapple!0

Oh bills make me angry too. Especially the ones from the monopoly companies, that have increased their rates about 30%, and its not like you can go anywhere else. I'm talking to you, Watercare.
I am quite jealous of your knife though - sounds like a good knife. Mine are all blunt.0 -
Feel a little sorry for the mess that pineapple made on your counter!!! (The pineapple, not so much. ) I admire your control!!! If that were me it would've been a chocolate cake or a pan of brownies, don't care if I baked them myself or brought them home from the store!!! I would probably feel a little guilty on it of course...the next day, and not very much. Not when you can love something like that THAT much!!!
Slice and dice away, my friend!!! Chop chop!!! :flowerforyou:0 -
Hahaha I was amused by that. I find cooking therapeutic.0

I scrub things when I'm mad. After something irritates me to no end I have the cleanest bathroom on the planet.0

I still have almost 250 calories left... Maybe indulge the sweet tooth a little more with the Fage yogurt with the honey you can pour over it, nomnomnom!0

I think attacking a pineapple was a great decision. For me, it's usually been a package of cookies or a bucket of ice cream and a spoon. Emotional eating is a tough hurdle to overcome, seems that you have found a way to cope with the desire to eat when angry by eating something healthy....0

When I clicked on this I visualized something far worse. Like a person ripping a steak to shreds with their hands and teeth.0

When I'm angry I either hit the gym or go on a cleaning rampage, either or are very very scary.0

So glad it was only a pineapple.
Just remember.... food is fuel, not therapy. :drinker:0 -
Could have been a loved one...so I guess a pineapple isn't so bad.
Maybe next time put on your walking shoes and head out the door.0 -

Cleaning rampage eh?
Buying you a ticket to AZ, setting you in my kitchen and pissing you off! Yea!0 -
Ah, it's too cold and dark out now for a walk - it's almost bedtime for me.
Putting the Fage yogurt back in the fridge.....0 -
I just posted about my frustration on my newsfeed. I eat when I am frustrated, but I really need to find something else to do instead. When I am angry, I get so mad that I am nauseous so I don't eat when I am angry. To me, there is a big difference between frustrated and angry, believe it or not.
Right now I am dealing with a coworker who only does what she wants to do, leaving me with all the rest of the work. She doesn't want to learn anything new. If I come up with an idea, I get stuck with doing the project. Hence, I don't come up with ideas anymore.
We had a meeting this morning with the boss and bigger boss. The main reason for the meeting was to prioritize the work and divey it out. I have about 25 projects on my list to be done, five of which I am actively working on. My coworker has two projects on her list and she is working on both of them. She has yet to meet a deadline since I have been there (3 years).
So, my coworker wants to put together this manual for clinical coordinators (I work in healthcare). I opened my big mouth and said that she should put it up online with links to the information that the coordinators would need. My coworker says she doesn't know how to do that, so the bigger boss says that I will be able to help her.
So I am still pissed off because here I sat in this meeting thinking that my plate full of projects would be lightened and I now have another thing on my plate - to help my freeloading, lazy-butt coworker with her project.
I am about to explode with frustration and really need to calm down before going to work tomorrow. What I really want to do is ask my bigger boss why she feels that I need one more thing on my plate. In reality, I feel like I am being punished for being computer savey, knowledgeable about things because I have done them when I worked on the units (I'm an RN), and because I am efficient.
In short, this was my dream job, but it has become my nightmare because of this coworker who manages to manipulate herself out of doing work.
Sorry for the rant, but I have been eating crap all day and my mood is sour.0 -
Great job! So healthy!0
