I just started a week ago and I am sick of this already! I have always eaten like a teenage boy and been pencil thin, but when my thyroid went bad I gained fast! I gained 36 lbs. I am trying to stay within the calorie limit and it is so very hard, that combined with a bronchitis I am getting over and lack of exercise makes me want to cry. Like seriously! I just read the list of sugars that we should avoid. **sigh** This is so very, very hard!

:) This is a life style change, sometimes they can be frustrating and difficult. Just remember that this is for you, so be patient and take your time. We all need an adjusting period, take yours now. Just know that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet. This is something that you can do, YOU are worth it. Accept these ups and downs with a smile as you find your groove. You will find it. Hang in there. :flowerforyou:

Don't get discouraged, we all have our bad days, weeks etc. :ohwell:
We are all here to support, motivate and encourage you...so we'll take some of the "weight" off. :drinker:
I found it difficult at first as well, but as of today I have come back 55 days in a row! :noway:
I hope that you feel better soon and can get back in to the swing of things without missing a beat!
    Best of luck to you!!!

I too am getting over bronchitis (as well as an acute sinus infection) - so I know where you're coming from. I've had to restart this time with no exercise. I tried... but my lungs and body just can't handle it yet. So this week, I'm watching my calories - which is more than I did last week. This is a START. Honestly, once you feel better and are over being sick - it won't be as hard. Find foods that work for you and that don't make you feel like you're depriving yourself. When you feel up to it - do some simple exercises - and find something that you like to do. I like my treadmill - I can go into my own little world and tune everything out for awhile... and if I get too tired - I don't have to worry about how to get home.
Keep your chin up and remember that every good decision you make today is one step better than you were yesterday.
  • thank you so much for the support and encouragement, everyone! I am practicing the lifestyle change part. I need to take it one day at a time. one day at a time...
