Ooh, good idea! Thanks!0 -
Have a cocktail in the bar in the Stratosphere Hotel. Same view, much less $$. If you are feeling run-down at all, definately stop at an Oxygen Bar, it REALLY helps. After 30 minutes you feel like you had a full night's sleep. There is a National Park in downtown Las Vegas that is worth a visit. I think it is the site of the original fort. There is a museum and some historical sites there. The park ranger was really helpful and insightful and gave me many ideas of other activities to see or save money. the Stratosphere tip came from there. Have fun!0

The Belaggio fountains are awesome, the view from the Straosphere is amazing. I would also recommend a gondola ride at the Venetian and enjoy an evening at Fremont, We stayed at the Luxor and can't wait to go back in a couple of years. I am so envious...enjoy your trip.0

Also there is a pole dance/burlesque class you can take somewhere on the strip and just outside the city is a shooting range where you can shoot REALLY big guns...if that is your thing.0

Party like its 1999!
But most of the hotels have free attractions of some type, so just walk in and out of them and walk around, oh and if you want an adult beverage, go to the casino and pretend like you're playing the slots and order a beer or drink (or if you're like me, let your friends gamble and order drinks). You can really spend most of the day just walking up and down the strip though. At Harrahs the Carnival Bar outside is pretty cool, all the bartenders can do awesome flair and the bar is open 24 hours a day.
Have so much fun! I'm absolutely jealous, I can't wait to go back, I was there for 6 days and could have probably done 6 more. Although my biggest suggestion is if you're there for a long time (like 6 days) don't go out every night, we did and we were miserable by our last night there, I suggest taking one night off and going to see a show or something. Be prepared to stay up until 5 or 6am like its no big thing though, our first night we didn't get back to our hotel until 8am.0 -
Oh there's so much to see & do! A lot for free even! Hit the Forum shops in Caesar's Palace (downstairs) You have to ride the roller coaster on NY NY & While you're there leave your bra behind at Coyote Ugly, The water fountains at Belagio are a must - Remember to see them during the day & at night! Make sure to hit downtown Vegas, Fremont St! The slots are loose & the drinks are cheap & yet they have bands & plenty of live entertainment on the streets! Fremont St also has an Awesome steak or prime rib dinner at Binion's for CHEAP (i want to say like $7!) Nobody does shows like Vegas (and New York) so if you get the chance see a show. May I recommend ANY of the Cique Du Soleil shows. (Zumanity & Love were my favorites!)
Don't worry - you will have plenty to do! Have fun & safe travels!!! ;-)0 -

This trip is for my bachelorette...or at least one of them...haha. I can't party like I used to, but we are going out to party for sure, but not every night. I can't wait. Thanks for the advice.0 -

I'm so jealous - I Vegas!!!! Yes, I'd also suggest the light show at Freemont Street. And if you're into shopping they have supurb outlet malls, there is one on the north end of the strip as well as the south. Fashion Show Mall was fun to check out too - Strip Burger, located on the north end of the mall was really awesome as well as the sushi resturant in the basment of Bally's... definitley one of the best Sushi resturants I have ever been to.
DON'T go to the Criss Angel show - it's horrible!!! But the Fantasy show at Luxor was really fun, and tasteful. I'd go see that one again0 -

have great acts, very entertaining and well worth the pricey tickets.
For gambling, the tables are cheaper in the morning so your $ will go farther. It's also a good time to play a game you don't know because they sometimes will let you just play for free (with special chips that have no value) to learn the game . Ditto for places like El Cortez which is a bit of a dive, but still a lot of fun. We wasted a number of hours at the El Cortez betting on roulette at 25 cents per chip. $20 to start will get you a nice big pile of chips for a good time on a small budget. Plus, the dealers there weren't the best (mostly new dealers), so errors can work in your favor. We once had a guy pay out red AND black... no body corrected him. People only corrected when he didn't pay someone he should have, not when he paid people he shouldn't. :P
We had a great time, smack talking with some locals, because you can feel like you had a "huge" win or loss since it's a lot of chips, but since the chips are only worth a quarter each, you aren't actually blowing all your money. We played for 2 hrs one afternoon, at one point I had doubled my money up from $20 to $40, and in the end I lost a grand net total of $2. LOL. My SO was a little less lucky, as he lost $25, including tips to the waitresses who kept bringing the table free drinks (as long as you are betting, drinks are generally free). But if you think of it, $27 for 2 hrs of games and drinks for a couple is a pretty cheap afternoon of fun in Vegas, so no complaints here. Compare that to late night at the big places where I literally saw a guy bet $10,000 on a single hand of black jack, loss, and bet again like nothing had happened! I felt torn between wanting to run over and smack the fool or beg him to give me a chip since they were so expendable to him... would have made a nice dent in my student loans if you know what I mean. So maddening.
So stay in a nicer casino and visit all the nicer casinos, but when you just want to play games and not really lose a lot of money, wander over to a dive.
Vegas is a little odd in the morning--very quiet and laid back--, but if you are flying in from the east coast, you'll probably find yourself to be an "early bird" compared to the rest of the city. I swore I "slept in" every day, and yet when I'd roll over to look at the clock, it would be 8 or 9am... early for Vegas time. On the flip side, despite my best efforts, it was nearly impossible for us to stay up to/past midnight Vegas time, because my internal clock would start begging for mercy well before that. Stupid time changes...0
