Can someone please explain TDEE/BMR/BMI and weight loss?

I'm VERY close to my goal, and I'm also eating between BMR and TDEE (actually, a 20% cut from my TDEE) which for me = 1700 calories! I'm STILL losing weight (1lb on average every week) and I also have a 'cheat day' on weekends where I eat as much of whatever I want. Consistency is what brings weight loss...consistency in eating right & working out. I highly advise that you eat more than 1200

More food = less deprivation = easier to stick to long term = higher level of fat burning = win win situation!

All those calculators are formulated toward the "average" person. If your weight is very high or very low the numbers tend to get a bit wonky. If you are obese you can probably eat even below your BMR for a while without hurting anything. I like using my BMR plus 100 to 200 calories. It seems more reasonable than letting a calculator decide how much exercise I did.

Some people only eat their BMR and then add their exercise calories and eat them back to encourage doing exercise. The thing with this is that you have to be really honest and accurate with your exercise logging.

I've tried any number of hard sums, but they all come out as close to MFP's "lose 1lb a week" calories as makes no odds so I stick with that.

If you use a TDEE calculation that includes exercise, do not eat your exercise calories. If you use MFPs, eat them, or at least a good proportion to allow for a margin of error.

that is to MAINTAIN your current weight.

if i were you, take 20-30% off that number. eat that, every day.

Okay, so it tells me that my BMR is 2472, and my TDEE is 3399. Do I take 20-30% off the TDEE? If I do that, it tells me 2380. Well I'm eating below 2200 (MFP tells me that my daily goal is 2130). I'm so confused, and need this simplified lol.

My sister is sedentary and eats 2500 on a regular basis, she is losing.

Read this! I eat 2000 a day and am building muscle and losing body fat, shrinking inches! My TDEE is 2500, BMR is 1600. I eat 2000 (TDEE - 20%) on a workout day or not, same amount each day. I may net 1500 one day, but net 2000 on the following day if it is a rest day. The 2000 calorie days are like going to the gas station to top off the tank.

Get educated on your body and you will understand hoe much you can and should eat.
